Angelina Jolie Makes TIFF a Family Affair

–Angelina Jolie took her kids to her TIFF premiere and no one knew how to handle it.

-My favourite TIFF photo booth is the one that gets celebs to pose with puppies who are available to adopt.

-One of my fave TIFF films so far is Call Me By Your Name, a gay romance that Armie Hammer says he almost turned down.

-I’ve been so busy with TIFF that I missed the first cover of GOOP magazine — which of course features a mud-covered Gwyneth Paltrow.

–Diane Kruger and Norman Reedus are still a thing. They were seen kissing and taking selfies at the U.S. Open.

–Patty Jenkins is finally and officially set to return as director for the Wonder Woman sequel.

-Every TV critic I follow agrees that this is the worst fall TV season in recent memory. Here are some that might not suck.

-It’s not all bleak. This Season 2 clip for The Good Place looks forking great.

-DC’s Titans casts its Hawk and Dove. Holy shit, is Minka Kelly not even getting lead roles these days?

-Oh god, are we going to have to go through a whole new press tour with Jared Leto talking about his method acting on Blade Runner: 2049?

–Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy celebrated 20 years of marriage last week. Here’s a reminder why they’re the best couple in Hollywood.

-I’ve worked my way up to 30 pushups, and that took me YEARS. Then I watch a tiny actress do 500 pushups and 500 situps in 29 minutes and I just want to quit.

-Here’s the new trailer for season 9 of Curb Your Enthusiasm. I dunno.  I realized this week while watching Ben Stiller’s new TIFF movie that I’ve really reached my limit of watching middle class white guys whine about their perfect lives.

–John Mayer and Nicki Minaj flirting on Twitter has everyone rooting for them in a way I don’t understand. Don’t we remember his history?

-Oh god, there’s already a new Fifty Shades movie coming? Ugh.

Idris Elba Rules Out Marriage In New Interview

-We’re blessed with so many Idris Elba covers this month! Here he is on the new cover of Essence and I’m dead. This is my ghost typing. Oh god, I just discovered the behind-the-scenes video. Yup, I am deceased.

–Jesse Williams denies cheating rumors surrounding him and Minka Kelly in Jay-Z’s latest “Footnotes” video: “I was in a relationship 13 years, 13 real years, not five years, not seven years, 13 years and all of a sudden motherf–kers are writing think-pieces that I somehow threw a 13-year relationship — like the most painful experience I’ve had in my life, like with a person I’ve loved with all of my heart — that I threw a person and my family in the trash because a girl I work with is cute.”

-Meanwhile, in what can only be considered exceptionally poorly timing, news broke today that the newly single Jesse is now reportedly dating … drumroll please … Minka Kelly!

-Speaking of crazy bad timing, Ben Affleck and new girlfriend Lindsay Shookus were photographed looking happy yesterday — and then People ran a story about how Jennifer Garner confronted Shookus about an alleged affair with Affleck in 2015.

–Shia LaBeouf shouts profanities at police in new arrest footage. He was reportedly arrested in a hotel lobby in the middle of the night for yelling at someone who refused to give him a smoke.

-The critics are not being kind to Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. THR says “The Razzies don’t need to wait until the end of the year to anoint a winner for 2017” while EW calls it “an epic mess.”

-Showtime is reportedly developing a sequel to The L Word.  There was a cast reunion in a recent issue of EW and I forgot how much I miss this show.

–Ryan Reynolds congratulated Wonder Woman for beating Deadpool at the box office.

–Gwen Stefani is being sued by a fan claiming she was injured in stampede at concert.

–Rutina Wesley penned a touching tribute to her friend and True Blood co-star Nelsan Ellis.

–Nina Dobrev and Hidden Figures star Glen Powell are officially dating after months of romance rumors.

–Guy Ritchie‘s live-action Aladdin can’t find its Aladdin. The studio is eyeing Naomi Scott or Tara Sutaria to play Jasmine, but can’t lock the deal until the male lead has been selected. I really, really hope it’s because Disney is looking for a diverse cast and not that they just put this story out there so that later they can be all “hey, we tried.”

–Bryce Dallas Howard posted a cute photo of her and Chris Pratt finishing up on Jurassic World 2. It’s not clear what shoes she’s wearing, though.

-The cute guy from Younger is in an open relationship with a lesbian. Why not?

–Gerard Butler should probably stop attempting an American accent. It’s not working.

Here’s the First Footage From The X-Files Reboot

-I recorded an entire episode of stupid Wayward Pines last night just so I could catch 15-seconds of new X-Files footage. Totally worth it. For reals, I’ve had a perm-smile since hearing the last 6 notes of that trailer.

–Minka Kelly says she’s not dating Sean Penn, so we can all roll up our HIMYM-style intervention banners.

-I’m having a Joseph Gordon-Levitt-heavy week, which is always a good thing. I’ve been trying to catch up on podcasts and finally got to his latest Nerdist one. This is the first time I’ve ever heard him talk about keeping his new wife out of the spotlight (he talks about trying to strike a balance between private vs public because she wants no part of that life, and that walking a red carpet with him at a premiere would “mortify” her). Then, it was announced that he’s going to be on The Mindy Project. Also, he’s turned on by moms.

-Meet the Wet Hot American Summer counselors in this new orientation video from Netflix.

-Watch Bill Hader and Jimmy Fallon spit food at each other in this random Tonight Show sketch.

–Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart have officially been inducted into Taylor Swift’s squad.

-Meanwhile, Taylor Swift had a rough night last night.

–John Travolta went on a “Palm Springs getaway” with some dude, which is a totally normal thing for a married man to do.

-Shake your dad bod: Wilco just dropped a surprise new album.

-Also, Orange Is the New Black’s Big Boo has a jazz album of David Bowie covers? Want!

–Miley Cyrus and Stella Maxwell went all Lady and the Tramp on a churro.

–Cara Delevingne is shaking off Vogue’s recent suggestion that having a girlfriend is merely a passing trend, saying “My sexuality is not a phase. I am who I am.”

–Elisabeth Moss is maybe, possibly losing her mind just a bit in the trippy Queen of Earth trailer.

-I love that Paul Rudd is continuing his clip tease tradition with Conan.

-Also, here’s more proof that Paul keeps a portrait of an old man in his attic.

-Here’s the first trailer for Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s The Revenant, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy. It’s hard to tell what it’s about from this clip, but damn if it isn’t the prettiest thing I’ve seen in a while. They’ve already got a lock on the cinematography hardware.
