Ellen Goes as Cardi B for Halloween

-I’ll give it to Ellen — she does a mean Cardi B impersonation.

-I did not expect Courteney Cox‘s Halloween video to go there…

-There are reports that David Benioff and D.B. Weiss walked away from their Star Wars project in part due because they didn’t want to deal with another “toxic fandom” after their Game of Thrones experience. Something tells me it would have gotten a hell of a lot more toxic under those two.

Kelly Clarkson‘s Hocus Pocus tribute is something to behold.

Aaron Sorkin wrote an open letter to Mark Zuckerberg in the New York Times: “This can’t possibly be the outcome you and I want, to have crazy lies pumped into the water supply that corrupt the most important decisions we make together.” It’s kind of ironic that Sorkin’s Social Network is a big reason people viewed Zuckerberg as a scrappy underdog instead of someone in over his head for wayyyy longer than they should have.

-Ah boo. Meg Ryan and John Mellencamp have reportedly called off their engagement after eight years together.

Orlando Bloom proposed to Katy Perry on Valentine’s Day, which is a very Orlando Bloom-y thing to do.

-This is a really good interview with Meg Ryan, in which she talks about burning out and the pressures of being America’s sweetheart. I love her metaphor for fame: “Ever get in a car — maybe it’s a superexpensive car — and the inside’s lovely, you can’t complain about it, but you can’t hear anything outside, because there’s so much metal? There’s so much between you and everything else. You’re at a disadvantage as a young, famous person because you don’t know who’s telling you the truth.”

-There was a very, very disturbing tweet from a Chicago news reporter last night that suggested Jussie Smollett may have staged his racist attack because he was worried he was be written out Empire. Fox Entertainment immediately denied that possibility and stood by the actor, and Empire producer Danny Strong tweeted that there was “0% truth he was being written off,” and police say there is no evidence that it was staged. Meanwhile, two suspects have been arrested.

-Whenever I see video from Kim Kardashian and Kanye West‘s house, I get so confused. How is she calling this their living room? Where is their furniture? It’s just a big, cavernous white space. Do they have a whole wing that they devote just to IG videos?

Terry Crews talked about what it’s like to be the leading male voice in the #MeToo movement: “It feels scary, there’s no other way to really describe. I’ve had a lot of men who are very, very angry. They’re angry at me because I’ve changed the narrative. The only way I can describe it is that there’s a movie that everybody’s playing in their head and the movie doesn’t end up the way they want it.”

-In the trailer for Long Shot, Charlize Theron plays a presidential candidate and Seth Rogen plays the schlubby journalist who catches her eye, and damned if I’m not totally charmed by this whole thing!

Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon To Star in New TV Series

Jennifer Aniston is set to return to TV. A new series about TV morning shows starring her and Reese Witherspoon is being shopped around to cable and streaming sites. (Remember when they played sisters on Friends?)

Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet reunited at charity auction last night, where Madonna did a surprise performance and Leo got into a bidding war with Harvey Weinstein and ended up spending $400k for “a large portrait of the actor in paint and crushed-up plates by Julian Schnabel.” Stars, they’re just like us!

-There’s lots of odd but good news coming out of the TCAs today. Chris Pine will star in a 6-episode TNT drama directed by Wonder Woman’s Patty Jenkins, written by her husband, and inspired by Fauna Hodel. Showtime announced a new pilot executive-produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon about crime & corruption in early 90s Boston. Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon-Levitt made an 80’s cop show  for Amazon that is a parody of a Romanian TV series. And we also got our first clip of At Home With Amy Sedaris, which will guest star Jane Krakowski and Justin Theroux.
