-I love this EW spread on Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss, who discuss their new Matrix movie and their 20-plus years of friendship. “We’ve been through this experience together as partners. The only way I can describe it is like a soul friendship.”

–Zendaya and Tom Holland made their red carpet debut as a couple last night.  I adored her archive Roberto Cavalli dress!

-The Gotham Awards were last night, giving us a better idea of what’s shaping up to have Oscar buzz. Maggie Gyllenhaal won three awards for her directorial debut, The Lost Daughter, as did Apple’s CODA.

-Meanwhile, Kristen Stewart was honoured with the Performer Tribute Award.

-I guess that DeuxMoi blind was right and Shawn Mendes’ breakup song is coming tomorrow.

–Rihanna was honoured in her native Barbados during its presidential inauguration, with the Prime Minister calling her “the national hero of Barbados.”

-Meanwhile, there’s lots of rumours flying around about Rihanna being pregnant but it doesn’t sound legit.

-The story of Adam McKay and Will Ferrell’s falling out is epically sad. Dudes just won’t talk about their feelings, huh?

-I’m loving that Ben McKenzie is sounding the alarm about cryptocurrency. Ryan Atwood grew up good!

-Oh no! The NFT craze has gotten to Harry Styles.

-Love is dead. Hamilton’s Anthony Ramos and Jasmine Cephas Jones have broken up after 6 years together, and it sounds like it might be messy.

-Speaking of messy splits, Aaron Carter and fiancée Melanie Martin have broken up a week after their son’s birth, with him tweeting “I was deceived and lied to. I can’t believe she betrayed [me] this way.”

–Adele announced a 12-weekend residency at Caesars Palace in Vegas.

-Bruised must be doing well on Netflix: Halle Berry just struck a multi-picture deal with the streamer.

-Kevin Can F**k Himself will come to an end with its second season.  It’s too bad — it felt like the show was finding itself at the end of last season.

–Britney Spears is really happy about lighting candles. Whatever works!

-This is perfect casting: Nic Cage is making his big studio return, signing on to play Dracula opposite Nicholas Hoult‘s Renfield in Universal’s new monster movie.

-I’m surprised how many critics who’s opinions I usually align with are raving over West Side Story.

-I don’t really care if it makes me basic or local or whatever; I’m increasingly looking forward to And Just Like That with each new trailer.

-Succession star Sarah Snook revealed she got married to comedian Dave Lawson during COVID lockdown — and it sounds the premise of an excellent romcom. She told Vogue Australia, “At the beginning of the pandemic last year, I got locked down in Melbourne with one of my best mates and we fell in love…We’ve been friends since 2014, lived together, traveled together, always excited to see each other, but totally platonic. We’ve just never been single at the same time. I proposed and we got married in February in my backyard.”

-Meanwhile, last night’s Succession season premiere was worth the two-year wait.

–Sean Penn’s wife has already filed for divorce after a year of marriage.

–Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker are engaged, and that’s how I found out her family calls them “Kravis.”  Is there a way I can un-know this?

–Adele is doing a two-hour special on CBS airing on Nov 14, where she’ll perform her hits and never-before-heard songs along with an exclusive interview with Oprah. It’ll air on Global here.

-Meanwhile, Adele says that she played her new album for Drake and asked his opinion. “I’m like, ‘Do you think this is like, what people want or not want?’ And he was like, ‘Absolutely.'”

-Queer Eyes’ Jonathan Van Ness, Jameela Jamil, Sara Ramirez, Angelica Ross, TS Madison, Eureka O’Hara and Colton Haynes are among the stars reportedly working on a PSA to support Netflix’s trans workers who are planning a walkout on Thursday.

–Billy Porter was not impressed by all the attention Harry Styles got for wearing a dress on the cover of Vogue — because he led the way. “I changed the whole game. I. Personally. Changed. The. Whole. Game. And that is not ego, that is just fact. I was the first one doing it and now everybody is doing it.

–Emma Watson broke her red carpet hiatus — with pants.

–Zendaya continues to crush it on the Dune press tour.

-A guy made a song based on the texts his mother sent him while she watched You, and it’s hilarious. (I’m halfway through the new season and it’s really, really good.)

-Disney just pushed back a bunch of its release dates. Sequels for Marvel’s Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Ant-Man and Thor — plus the next Indiana Jones movie — are all being delayed.

-The Y: The Last Man team is looking for a new network home after FX on Hulu canceled the series. It’s really strange that FX would announce this before the season’s last three episodes even aired.

-The news that Mel Gibson will lead the John Wick prequel at Starz is not going over well. The Continental will explore the origin behind the hotel-for-assassins in the John Wick universe, but any enthusiasm people had for this prequel seems to have evaporated with this casting news. Hard pass.

-I don’t watch The Great but these images of Gillian Anderson in season 2 are tempting me.

-The Ridley Scott–directed, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck–cowritten film The Last Duel flopped at the box office.

-Every new trailer Jeremy Renner’s new series Mayor of Kingstown is more incoherent than the last.

-The first full trailer for The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson, debuted Saturday at the DC FanDome virtual event, giving fans a glimpse at director Matt Reeves’ DARK take on the Caped Crusader.

-Other trailers that debuted at DC FanDome include Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam, John Cena’s Peacemaker, and Ezra Miller’s The Flash.

-Here’s the first trailer for Maggie Gyllenhaal‘s haunting directorial debut, The Lost Daughter, starring Olivia Colman, Dakota Johnson, Peter Sarsgaard and Paul Mescal. It’s adapted from Elena Ferrante‘s book and was well-received on the festival circuit.

–Dr. Phil of all people spoiled Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner‘s wedding date. Diplo must feel pretty vindicated right now.

-The wedding is rumoured to be taking place this weekend in Paris, where Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra were already spotted.

-This is terrifying: a man pretended to be the owner of Halle Berry’s house by printing up a fake deed and having the locks changed. He got as far as one lock before the jig was up.

–Rihanna‘s Fenty popup store featured curvy mannequins and the internet gobbled it up.

–Obama was photographed in a boat with George Clooney while visiting the actor in Italy.

-I like Miley Cyrus but Nicki Minaj calling her “a Perdue chicken” is a very solid diss.

-Everyone’s making a big deal out of Brad Falchuk and Gwyneth Paltrow only living together four nights a week, but that sounds like the perfect arrangement to me!

–Samuel L. Jackson was quick to point out that in the Spider-Man: Far From Home poster, his character’s eye patch belongs on the left eye, rather than the right.

–Maggie Gyllenhaal is sick of answering #MeToo questions about her Deuce costar James Franco: “Yeah, that annoys me. I have been asked to answer for him and I have nothing to do with it. But I feel like it’s important to continue making the show. I feel like a political wife or something. I don’t like that.”

-Years and Years, a 6-episode series which debuts on HBO tonight and stars Emma Thompson and Russell Tovey, is getting raves.

-Friends alums Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow had a girls’ night out this weekend.

-A group of lawyers representing Soundgarden, the estate of the Tupac Shakur, and the late-Tom Petty’s ex-wife have filed a class-action lawsuit against Universal Music Group, seeking damages for the fire that destroyed more than 500,000 archived master audio recordings.

-The trailer for Meek Mills docuseries Free Meek , featuring Jay Z and others talking about the rapper’s insanely unfair legal battles, has dropped.

-I am now “I barely recognized anyone at the BET Awards” years old.

-So how many times did Beyonce fire you as her assistant this weekend? I made it all the way to the end on my second try — and then haven’t been able to replicate it since.
