Angelina Jolie and The Weeknd Rumours Continue

–Angelina Jolie and her kids were spotted at the same concert as The Weeknd a week after they had dinner together, leading to renewed speculation they’re dating (even though they’re probably not).

-Speaking of hard-to-believe dating rumours, the one about Tom Cruise and Hayley Atwell has resurfaced.

-This headline makes it seem like it’s about how Kim Kardashian’s style has changed since leaving Kanye West, but it’s actually about how much he seemingly controlled what she wore.

–Millie Bobby Brown is reportedly dating Jon Bon Jovi’s son and wow this kid looks so much like his dad!

–Ariana Grande is honeymooning with Dalton Gomez in Amsterdam.

–Black Widow made a pandemic record $80 million for the U.S. opening and earned another $60 million on Disney+ Premier Access. The standalone superhero movie took in an estimated $218 million globally between ticket sales and Disney+ Premier Access.

-The Hating Game is coming to theatres later this year. I know I need to temper my expectations because it likely won’t be as good as the book but I CANNOT WAIT.

-Three weeks after pleading guilty in his child endangerment case, Drake Bell has been sentenced to two years probation.

–Jodie Turner-Smith‘s jewels were stolen from her hotel room in Cannes. It’s believed she may have been targeted after wearing Gucci jewelry to her premiere. Though that jewelry was taken back after the premiere, the robbers stole jewelry worth tens of thousands of euros, including her mother’s wedding ring.

-I’m not sure I like what Bella Hadid wore to Cannes, but tree boobs are certainly one way to generate buzz.

-French actor Judith Chemla, the 37 year-old French star of Mes freres et moi, will not attend the world premiere of the film at Cannes today after she filed a complaint against the director Yohan Manca (who is also her boyfriend), alleging he threw a phone at her. Uh, maybe he’s the one who shouldn’t go?

-A spokesperson for Lea Seydoux confirmed she tested positive for COVID-19 despite being fully vaccinated and asymptomatic. She will remain in quarantine until her doctors deem her safe to travel to Cannes and attend festival events. Which should be, like, NOT before the fest is over, no?

–Vince Staples and Lil Nas X’s twitter exchange was hilarious. No one is doing socials right now better than this kid.

-Here’s another best TV of the year so far list. I would add We Are Lady Parts to this list, but I love that Girls4eva and Starstruck made it in there.

-The reviews for White Lotus, HBO’s new show that debuted last night, are glowing. It’s about wealthy people ruining the lives of various workers at a Hawaiian resort, and the cast is stacked!

-Speaking of TV reviews, the new season of Ted Lasso is getting praise (though the premiere reportedly gets off to a shaky start with a baffling storytelling decision critics aren’t allowed to spoil).

–Shonda Rhimes just signed a new Netflix deal, earning a “significant” raise.

–Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt are in full promo mode for Jungle Fever, and this morning on GMA they surprised a custodian who got his degree in his 40s to become a teacher.

–Chris Hemsworth recorded the Loki the Frog noise in last weeks’ Loki.

–Jessica Biel is stepping on Jessica Alba‘s turf by launching a wellness brand for kids.

-This is a good piece in the NYT about why lots of people have no plans to go back to the movies. Our theatres are opening again next week (after the longest closure in North America) and I can’t wait, but I get it.

–Jake Johnson says his new comedy indie movie Ride the Eagle is like “a sweeter companion piece” to New Girl, so I’m in.

–Matt Damon says he turned down James Cameron‘s offer of 10 percent of the Avatar profits to star in it, a payday that would have eventually totaled more than $280 million. Oopsie!

-The Good Place alums Kristen Bell and Kirby Howell-Baptiste reunite in the Queenpins trailer.

Bennifer Rises!

-Bennifer is back, baby! 17 years after calling off their engagement, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were spotted on a romantic vacation in Montana.

-So the Golden Globes are pretty much dead, huh? Netflix kicked things off on Friday by announcing they were “stopping any activities” with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association until changes were made about their lack of diversity, and Amazon quickly followed suit. Then today, NBC announced it wouldn’t air the show next year, stars like Scarlett Johansson, Ava DuVernay and Mark Ruffalo called them out, and Tom Cruise GAVE BACK the awards he’s won over the years as a sign of protest. (Hopefully we’ll finally get justice for Brendan Fraser.)

–John Mulaney and his wife Annamarie Tendler are splitting up after six years of marriage — and it seems like it was his decision. In a statement to People via her rep, she said “I am heartbroken that John has decided to end our marriage. I wish him support and success as he continues his recovery.”

–Gal Gadot says Joss Whedon treated her badly on the Justice League set: “He kind of threatened my career and said if I did something, he would make my career miserable. I handled it on the spot.” That lines up with what a source told the Hollywood Reporter in their exposé about it: “Joss was bragging that he’s had it out with Gal. He told her he’s the writer and she’s going to shut up and say the lines and he can make her look incredibly stupid in this movie.”

–Aubrey Plaza confirmed that she’s married to her longtime boyfriend Jeff Baena — and the internet was weirdly mad about it.

–Kristen Bell continues to overshare about her sex life with Dax Shepard.

-Who thought it was a good idea to put up Gina Carano for Emmy consideration for The Mandalorian, the show she was fired from?

-I really loved this interview with Sierra Teller Ornelas, the Native co-creator of Rutherford Falls.

–Seth Rogen says he has no plans to work with James Franco again after his sexual misconduct allegations. “What I can say is that I despise abuse and harassment and I would never cover or conceal the actions of someone doing it, or knowingly put someone in a situation where they were around someone like that.”

-He was asked about it when promoting his new memoir, which is getting rave reviews.

-Grey’s Anatomy has been renewed — but Jesse Williams is leaving the show. (Though he and Sarah Drew teased a spinoff about their characters.)

–Helen Mirren is helping Italy’s vaccination effort with a viral video.

-There’s an oral history of Tom Holland‘s performance of “Umbrella”!

-Amid all the controversy about Doctor Who actor Noel Clarke, his costar John Barrowman has apologized for repeatedly exposing himself on set. I remember the Arrow cast talking about him doing this all the time like it was a funny joke. David Boreanaz used to brag about doing this on the Buffy set, too.

-In case you missed this wildly depressing news last week, LaKeith Stanfield moderated a Clubhouse chat dedicated to anti-Semitic conspiracy theories where Jews were repeatedly compared to Satanists and termites.

–Dave Bautista is set to join the cast of Knives Out 2.

-I’m not sure why the New York Post thinks Leonardo DiCaprio looks unrecognizable in the first photos of the new Scorsese film. He looks like he always does? (The replies to their tweet are hilarious.)

-Actually unrecognizable is Lily James as Pamela Anderson. Sebastian Stan as Tommy Lee still looks like Sebastian Stan, though.

–Woody Harrelson’s Carnage battles Tom Hardy in the new Venom 2 trailer.

Jennifer Lopez’s Inauguration Performance Gets Mixed Reviews

–JLo’s performance at the inauguration was, um, interesting. But I adored the white outfit — and the photo shoot.

–The New Radicals‘ appearance at today’s inauguration makes more sense when you learn that “You Get What You Give” was the Biden family’s breakfast rallying song when Beau was going through cancer treatment. *sob*

–Lady Gaga took her tech entrepreneur boyfriend Michael Polansky to the inauguration.

–Rihanna had today’s best social media post.

-I’m not a huge James Corden fan but his “One Day More” song with Broadway stars was pretty spectacular.

-There’s no update on the Shawn Mendes/Camila Cabello engagement rumours but she’s making headlines for her charitable work: she’s teaming with Movement Voter Fund to launch the Healing Justice Project, which will focus on giving frontline activists access to mental health support.

–Danny Masterson has pleaded not guilty to charges of raping three women and is out on $3.3 million bail.

–Lori Harvey and Michael B Jordan continue to enjoy their blissful bubble.

-Variety’s latest Actors On Actors video features Daniel Kaluuya and Tom Holland, and it’s all very charming. Holland says he broke his laptop when he found out he’d landed Spider-Man: “I flipped it up in the air. It fell off my bed. My dog went nuts. I ran downstairs. I was telling my family, “I got the part! I got the part!”‘

-Lupin (a French Netflix show about a gentleman thief who steals a diamond necklace for revenge) is on track to reach more households than recent buzzy fare such as Bridgerton and The Queen’s Gambit.

-I haven’t started it yet but the reviews are glowing.

-Every time there’s a fluffy People story about Kristen Bell, I remember Deux Moi’s recent posts about how she’s being groomed to take over Ellen’s job.

-I just got all caught up on The Boys (I blame Aya Cash) and am now crushing on Jack Quaid. This IG Live in which Jane Levy assures him he’s hot is hilarious.

-Netflix stock hit an all-time high today.
