–Halsey, who has been open about suffering multiple miscarriages over the years, has announced she’s expecting her first child with Alev Aydin.

-The first image of Kristen Stewart as Princess Diana in the upcoming film Spencer has landed. I was skeptical of her initial casting, but the resemblance is remarkable. And if anyone can play a person reluctant about their sudden fame, it’s her.

–Kim Kardashian West reportedly has her divorce exit plan “ready to go.” A source tells Us Weekly: “Kim has had all of her and Kanye’s financials and properties ready to be split, it’s a very fair deal for everyone.”

-Movie theatres have had a rough go of it lately, but AMC just erased its 20220 pandemic losses — because of Reddit.  Basically, a subreddit has decided to take down hedge funds by inflating the stock of shorted companies like AMC, Gamestop, Bed Bath & Beyond, and a few others. This thread is probably the simplest explanation of what’s going on that I’ve see so far.

–Christa B. Allen will be invited to the Revenge reunion after all now that organizers said they’ve changed platforms so now they no longer have a tech-based limit of four castmembers. Um, they know we all know how Zoom works at this point, right?

–Dakota Johnson says she’s used George Clooney’s name to get dinner reservations. She eventually told him and he was cool with it.

–Pamela Anderson secretly tied the knot with her bodyguard on Christmas Eve — 11 months after her nonlegal wedding to Jon Peters.

-Conservatives are big mad over Alyssa Milano being cast in a Nora Roberts adaptation.

-Netflix says it has a new most-watched series in Bridgerton: a record 82 million households around the world tuned in in its first 28 days, making it the streamer’s biggest series ever. I still side-eye all of Netflix’s “ratings” releases, but hopefully this will usher in a bunch of romance adaptations.

-The first images from Netflix’s Shadow and Bone adaptation are here and I’m excited. I don’t usually read fantasy but a friend recommended that series and I devoured it.

-Who in the world in Lindsay Lohan‘s camp is trying to suppress the first bit of good press she’s gotten in years?!

–Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci’s new film Supernova, in which they play a couple dealing with illness, is getting rave reviews.

-On the flip side, Netflix’s Malcolm & Marie, starring Zendaya and John David Washington, is not getting good reviews. “A screechy and solipsistic debate about identity politics that was made because Zendaya was bored during lockdown.”

-Top Gun: Maverick is still holding out for a summer release, which seems wildly optimistic.

–Paul Bettany says Avengers: Age of Ultron director Joss Whedon “really, really wanted” Vision to have a penis in his “birth” scene. “And everyone, [Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige] and [Marvel Studios co-president Louis D’Esposito], I mean everybody was like ‘I don’t know, Joss…I mean…I’m not sure…'”

–Kate Moss and her daughter walked the runway together.

–Cloris Leachman has passed away at 94.

-Sloan’s Chris Murphy has been diagnosed with Bell’s palsy.

-The Bold Type will end with an abbreviated fifth and final season this year.

–Selena Gomez announced she’ll be releasing a whole EP in Spanish, Revelación, on March 12.

–Gary Oldman and Armie Hammer star in the trailer for Crisis, Nicholas Jarecki’s Arbitrage follow-up. The timing of this is bad on so many levels.

-Are you watching HBO’s I May Destroy You? I shied away from it at first because the premise sounded so bleak, but I’ve now caught up on all four episodes that have aired so far and it’s remarkable. Yes, it’s about a woman trying to figure out if she was sexually assaulted when her drink was spiked so it’s dark, but it’s also funny and charming and unpredictable. No wonder it’s already ending up on best TV show lists. Series creator and star Michaela Coel talks about the show in the latest issue of British GQ.

–Kylie Bunbury and Mark-Paul Gosselaar shot a new, socially distanced promo to celebrate Pitch being on Hulu. Rumours keep surfacing about execs wanting to bring the show back and I don’t want to get my hopes up again, but why would Disney spend money on shooting a new promo for an old show?!

–Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds continue to step up. They donated $200K to a Nova Scotia Indigenous women’s program.

-The latest round of Actors on Actors videos feature Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman (she told him “[Chris Nolan] doesn’t allow chairs, and his reasoning is, if you have chairs, people will sit, and if they’re sitting, they’re not working. I mean, he has these incredible movies in terms of scope and ambition and technical prowess and emotion. It always arrives at the end under schedule and under budget. I think he’s onto something with the chair thing”), and Chace Crawford and Penn Badgley (bless Penn for saying “we can debate about whether or not that even makes sense” of his character being Gossip Girl).

-What the hell is Terry Crews doing? Someone change his Twitter password already.

-The first chapter of Quibi’s star-packed Princess Bride remake dropped yesterday. It’s an insanely fun four minutes.

–Mel Gibson has three upcoming movies booked despite those anti-Semitism comments the actor allegedly made to Winona Ryder resurfacing. Tell me more about “cancel culture.”

–Lena Dunham agreed with that viral tweet that went around earlier this week, saying that she agrees the “Hollywood system is rigged in favor of white people and that my career took off at a young age with relative ease.” Ok, I get that she had an easy ride and benefited from being a white indie movie darling with famous parents. But Girls was good (sometimes great!). How come we’re not calling out white male showrunners who get chance after chance and keep making bad shows? I know Dunham is an easy target but come on.

-365 Days star Michele Morrone confirmed that a sequel is in the works. God help us all.

–Kim Kardashian-West shared photos from daughter North’s 7th birthday, which they celebrated on their $14 million ranch in Wyoming. Is she the only little girl who’s ever asked for a pony and got it?

–Dr. Dre‘s wife of 24 years, Nicole Young, has filed for divorce.

–This photo of Chris Pine walking out of an indie bookstore with a big bag of books while wearing a mask has sent Twitter aflutter.

-I love that Mae Whitman and Jane Levy are BFFs IRL.

-“Hi guys I’m in my gym today and yes it is the gym that I burned down, it’s still not fixed yet but I’m getting there” is the best intro ever to an Instagram video.

–Adele shared some flirty exchanges with British rapper Skepta on Instagram.

–JK Rowling continues to show her true colours.

–Alison Brie says she regrets voicing Diane Nguyen on BoJack Horseman: “We missed a great opportunity to represent the Vietnamese American community accurately and respectfully.” I mean, ok, but this was a repeated criticism of the show while it was airing and it’s weird to position it like this is something that never occurred to her.

-Family Guy’s Mike Henry will no longer voice Cleveland. He also had a four-season spinoff on which he was an executive producer; is he giving back his royalties from that?

-Speaking of hollow, performative gestures, Hulu pulled a “blackface” episode of Golden Girls that featured Blanche and Rose in mud masks. Instead of all this virtual signaling, wouldn’t it be great if the television industry focused on the work that actually has to be done.

–Paul Walker‘s daughter snapped a selfie with all three of Vin Diesel‘s children — including Pauline, who was named after Walker.

-Ozark is coming to an end on Netflix, but it’s doing so with an expanded order for its fourth and final season.

-So now Justice League actor Ray Fisher is taking a swing at Joss Whedon? What a mess.

-HBO beat out 16 other bidders to turn Brit Bennett’s novel The Vanishing Half into a limited series. I just finished it and yeah, it’s worth the hype.

-Amazon Prime Video has launched a Watch Party feature which allows for up to 100 people to stream movies and TV together. I can’t believe Netflix hasn’t launched something like this yet.

-The hot priest met the hot couple from Normal People. So much hotness!

-Disney+ released a new clip from Hamilton featuring Renée Elise Goldsberry singing “Satisfied”.

–Jennifer Hudson shines in the new trailer for the Aretha Franklin biopic Respect.

–Liam Neeson and his real-life son star in the Made In Italy trailer.

Chris Evans Reaches Peak Captain America in Esquire

–Chris Evans made the entire internet swoon today with his new Esquire cover story.  He talks about how his Marvel contract is done after the next two Avengers movies, and about being outspoken against Trump (“Look, I’m in a business where you’ve got to sell tickets. But, my God, I would not be able to look at myself in the mirror if I felt strongly about something and didn’t speak up… If I state my case and people don’t want to go see my movies as a result, I’m okay with that”). He also jumps out of a plane with the interviewer.

–Ewan McGregor said”I’m f*cking proud to be a woke bae!” (right after someone explained to him what that meant).

–Ben Affleck announced last night in a Facebook post that he just got out of rehab. Sources say he checked in immediately after the Oscars and it was his own decision, not prompted by any specific incident.

–Kim Kardashian West believes the robbers who attacked her in Paris were monitoring her social media usage. Well, yeah.

–Mandy Patinkin reportedly “burst into tears” watching Jake Gyllenhaal on Broadway.

-Nicole sent me this video last night of Prince William dancing at a club with the text “we have the same top moves.” She’s not wrong.

-Cleanse your palate with this video of Isabelle Huppert dancing. (I love how she has no time for that JT song tho.)

-How to Get Away With Murder’s Aja Naomi King might be dating co-star Alfred Enoch? I ship it.

-Oh god. On the anniversary of the Fappening, more alleged intimate photos of actresses are being circulated online, and this time Emma Watson and Amanda Seyfried are among the targets.

–Sarah Paulson, stylist Karla Welch and Ruth Negga look amazeballs on the cover of THR.

–Leighton Meester knows she would bring her Blair Waldorf-style A game and crush it on The Bachelor. “If you can’t win The Bachelor, what’s wrong with you?”

-Former SNL star Noël Wells has some harsh words for the show’s “comedy dinosaurs.”

-I’m always so fascinated by who runs celebrity Twitter accounts. Is it the stars themselves, or do they outsource it? With Adele, we can be sure it’s the latter because her managers have taken away her access. “I’m not allowed to access my own Twitter because I’m quite mouthy and I say the wrong thing a lot of the time.”

–Charlie Hunnam says he is “profoundly germophobic” but he has a good reason for it — blindness caused by dogs.

–The Good Fight will return for a second season on  CBS All Access. I like it but not enough to go searching for downloads so I’m am so, so glad it airs like a regular TV show here in Canada.

-Also getting a second season is FX’s Legion. I’m on the fence about that one. It sure is pretty but I don’t know if there’s a lot of there there.

-We’re getting a Rihanna–Adam Driver musical drama? OK THEN!

–Kelly Clarkson has a giant mounted bear in her living room like the gd boss that she is.

-The season finale for This Is Us aired last night and it was…not good. Like, really not good. This is what happens when you build your show around a gimmick (and when you already delivered your best emotional wallop two episodes ago). It’s no surprise producers are already promising a “lighter” season two.

-Also, if this is how Jack dies I’m going to scream.

–American Gods’ first trailer takes us into Neil Gaiman‘s trippy world.

–Oprah fights for justice for her mother in the first trailer for HBO’s The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. I wasn’t sure how they’d be able to adapt that book but this looks GOOD.
