-Variety interviewed the women of Grey’s Anatomy about the show’s upcoming 17th season, and they talked about the possibility that this might be its last. Ellen Pompeo has a few more months before she decides whether she wants to continue, and said she knows the show will likely end when she leaves. “I don’t take the decision lightly. We employ a lot of people, and we have a huge platform.”

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez covers the new issue of Vanity Fair, and talks about how she warned Rep. Ted Yoho to watch himself after he called her a “fucking bitch” on the steps of Capitol Hill. She found him the next day and told him, “You do that to me again, I won’t be so nice next time” — and she lived up to that promise when he brought it up on the House floor.

-IMDb has taken down user ratings for David Oyelowo and Angelina Jolie‘s upcoming film Come Away after it became the target of a review bombing campaign, mostly because it’s a prequel to Alice in Wonderland and a bunch of racists got mad that the kid actors they cast aren’t white.

Sacha Baron Cohen did a Reddit Q&A in character last night and it was as filthy as you’d expect.

-Despite the rumours that she’s dating Skepta, Adele is calling herself a single cat lady.

-There’s been whispers for a while about Diplo, but he’s denying a relationship with a 19-year-old TikTok star after she said she lives with him. He tweeted, “OK so I rent one of my properties to @quenblackwell. And yes I use the studio that is in that building. Her social media is sarcastic and chaotic and I can see you can get a twisted idea but there is nothing but a friendship between us.”

-Netflix’s holiday rom-com Holidate, which drops on Friday, is actually getting decent reviews? I mean, I was going to watch the crap out of it either way, but that’s nice.

Jada Pinkett Smith Is Ready for “Healing”

-It’s been a busy week for Jada Pinkett Smith. First she called out Youtuber Shane Dawson for talking about masturbating to a poster of Willow Smith when she was 11. And now she’s once again denying those long-standing rumours of an open marriage after singer August Alsina gave an interview in which he seemed to confirm he’d had an affair with her — with Will Smith‘s blessing. Alsina said: “I actually sat down with Will and had a conversation … due to the transformation from their marriage to life partnership they’ve spoken on several times…He gave me his blessing.. And I totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life, and I truly and really, really, deeply loved and have a ton of love for her, I devoted myself to it…I just always stayed silent because I never want to be the person that causes confusion, I love these people. I have literally never been in love in that kind of way so much so that being intertwined in that way, walking away from it butchered me.” The age difference (she was in her 40s and he was 21 when this rumoured relationship allegedly started), plus the fact that she’s previously said she mentored him, is giving people pause.

-Today, Jada seemed to imply that she’ll be talking about this on Red Table Talk, tweeting “There’s some healing that needs to happen…so I’m bringing myself to The Red Table.”

-Justice League’s Ray Fisher expanded on his thoughts on Joss Whedon, tweeting “Joss Wheadon’s on-set treatment of the cast and crew of Justice League was gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable.” This is a very good recap of all the Justice League bts drama, including reports that Gal Gadot refused to film a scene Joss wrote where The Flash falls into her boobs. It also touches on other problematic Joss stories, like Charisma Carpenter saying he fired her from Angel for getting pregnant, and his ex-wife accusing him of using her as a “shield” so no one would question his feminism or relationship with women.

Khloé Kardashian is potentially back together with Tristan Thompson.

Ricky Gervais, Ramy Youssef, Kenan Thompson, Kumail Nanjiani and Dan Levy are featured in this year’s THR comedy actor roundtable. Levy says of Schitt’s Creek’s total lack of homophobia: “My feeling was if I were to include homophobia or bigotry of any kind in the show, it would be giving power to those people who see themselves on TV…I don’t ever consider our show to be very political, but I suppose that decision to just say, ‘We’re never going to show the dark side,’ is the quiet politics of our show.”

-This is such a good piece on the Golden Girls on why it’s weird the mudface scene is what the show is getting criticized for when the entire series is mired in racism and rape culture, and how it’s important to critically unpack all the messages we receive every day in pop culture and think deeply about how to reduce the harm in them.

Paul Mescal’s Charitable Chain

Paul Mescal Stylist cover

-I really hope the buzz surrounding Normal People (which drops in Canada this week on CBC Gem) is still loud enough when productions resume so that Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones translate their critically acclaimed performances into huge new roles. They’re both so, so good in it and deserve to be big stars. Mescal’s on the new cover of Stylist, where he talks about auctioning off his character’s infamous chain to support a mental health and suicide charity called Pieta House.

This weekend, she posted yet another defense of her original post, and compared herself to yet another POC. “The difference is, when I get on the pole, people call me a whore, but when [FKA] Twigs gets on the pole, it’s art.” At what point does someone in her life just change her Insta password?

-Speaking of unwatchable shows with a connection to Phoebe Waller-Bridge, I liked it at the beginning of the season but the Run finale was really, really bad. It’s actually kind of shocking how far this show went off-course.
