Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani Wed

-It’s finally happened: Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani got married on Saturday in a small ceremony at his ranch.

-The biggest news to hit before the weekend was Zendaya and Tom Holland photographed kissing in a car. Part of me thinks the is a PR move (the new Spider-Man trailer is expected to drop any day now). A bigger part of me is too squealy over these photos to care.

Ronan Farrow and Jia Tolentino released their meticulously reported article on Britney Sprears’ conservatorship this weekend. Not a lot of huge shockers (beyond the fact that she called 911 the night before her testimony last month), but it’s a very good view into how some of those around her who initially acted with good intentions are horrified by how much it’s spiraled out of control.

-Also, Britney Spears is accusing the paparazzi of Photoshopping her to look heavier than she actually is for years.

Pete Davidson and Bridgerton’s Phoebe Dynevor made their public debut as a couple at Wimbledon.

I’m embarrassed for those people. I’m embarrassed for Scarlett! I’m sure she got paid five, seven million bucks, but I’m embarrassed for her.” Oh yeah, she’s clearly the embarrassing one here…

-Meanwhile, here’s the latest Black Widow teaser.

Prince William and Kate Middleton Mark 10 Years

Prince William and Kate Middleton are celebrating their 10-year anniversary and they released new official portraits and a sweet family video. It’s clearly a PR play, but it’s very cute so I’ll take it.

-In less happy royal family news, despite being near each other for Prince Philip‘s funeral, Prince Charles reportedly continued to freeze Harry out and they “barely communicated.”

-Gucci’s new ad campaign involves celebs appearing on a fake talk show, hosted by James Corden. My favourite is Dakota Johnson because she looks like she’s about 2 seconds from pulling her “Actually no, that’s not the truth, Ellen” schtick.

John Mayer is nearing a deal to host his own late-night talk show on Paramount Plus.

Billie Eilish gets up close and personal with a giant snake in her new music video.

Jason Segel and Alexis Mixter have split after eight years together.

Kiefer Sutherland and Jason Patric took us on a trip down gossip nostalgia lane when they appeared on a podcast and talked about that time Kiefer was supposed to marry Julia Roberts, but she left him for Jason just before the wedding. They were able to repair their friendship and now say they’re besties. Said Jason: “They’ve both subsequently been married since. A couple of times. They’re both very happy in their lives, and what lasted after all of that was me and Kiefer. Thirty-five-year buddies.”

-I don’t hate the podcast trend of TV stars rewatching their old shows. Rachel Bilson and Melinda Clarke just launched their podcast on The OC, and Scott Patterson is going to recap the Gilmore Girls on a new pod.

-I can’t stop looking at Camila Cabello’s outfit in these photos. I thought it was skirt but that first pic makes me think it’s pants. What?

-Congrats to comedian Hannah Gadsby, who announced on social media yesterday that she got married in January.

Steven Yeun’s Big Year

Steven Yeun Variety

Steven Yeun is on the cover of Variety to promote his critically acclaimed new film Minari — which, for some reason, won’t compete in the Best Picture category at the Golden Globes and has been relegated to Foreign Language category, despite it being an American story set in America and made by an American director.

Prince William, Kate Middleton and their kids were reportedly spotted strolling with Prince Edward’s family — despite not being in the same covid bubble.

-This is an interesting look at why only a handful of celebs dominated this year’s media coverage. “With fewer people to photograph, almost every star was bound to get some traction just for stepping outside—and some say the stars have been cooperating to make it happen.”

-HBO Max is eyeing a Samantha-less Sex and The City revival. Don’t.

-This is a great examination of why J.K. Rowling‘s anti-trans stance shouldn’t be surprising. Her books are all about identifying/putting people in their place (wizards vs muggles, sorting hat, etc.) and she’s always seemed entrenched in her opinions, reluctant to allow much room for interpretation in her novels and “determined to map and describe every corner of her fictional world.”

-I missed the Eddie Izzard announcement but I love her and hope she’s happy.

-So it’s been a few days since Ariana Grande’s engagement. Have we figured out why her ring is sideways yet?

Emily Blunt and Jamie Dornan trying to make the twist in Wild Mountain Thyme make sense when asked about it in interviews is their best acting yet. (If you don’t know what the twist is, please please please give yourself an early xmas gift and spoil it.)

Mads Mikkelsen laughing off the suggestion of speaking to Johnny Depp about taking over his Fantastic Beasts role with “I don’t know him” is, well, fantastic.

-The more Chris Pratt jokes about being named the worst Chris, the more obvious it is that it bugs him immensely.
