-It’s a big week for Olivia Rodrigo. She finally met Taylor Swift IRL and now she’s on the cover of Billboard Magazine.

-Well, this is unexpected. John Mulaney and Olivia Munn are dating, says People.

-In other surprising couples news, Kat Dennings and Andrew W.K. confirmed that they are engaged.

-Are Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker the horniest famous couple? Their social media interactions point to “yes”.

–Gal Gadot had a chance to redeem herself. She did not.

–Josh Duhamel says he sent Armie Hammer an email after replacing him in Shotgun Wedding. “I know Armie a little bit, and when I knew I was gonna get the part, I emailed him and said, ‘Listen, I know you are going through it right now, I don’t like to get roles like this and I just wanted to let you know that I am thinking about you and good luck, get through it.'” I wonder if he sent similarly supportive notes to Hammer’s alleged victims?

-I’m surprised NBC agreed to end This Is Us since it seems to be one of the few legitimate network hits left, but good for them for going out on their own terms.

-Yesterday Ellen DeGeneres alluded to cancel culture when she announced her show’s ending, and today she said that the toxic workplace complaints were “orchestrated”. She told the Today Show: “I really didn’t understand it. I still don’t understand it. It was too orchestrated. It was too coordinated. People get picked on, but for four months straight for me. And then for me to read in the press about a toxic work environment, when all I’ve ever heard from every guest that comes on the show is what a happy atmosphere this is and what a happy place this is.” Right, because celebrities guests who pop in for two hours would have similar experiences as fulltime crew members.

-I never thought I’d say this, but the long-delayed Friends reunion special might actually be worth the wait? It will feature guest stars David Beckham, Justin Bieber, BTS, James Corden, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Lady Gaga, Kit Harington, Mindy Kaling, Tom Selleck, Reese Witherspoon, Malala Yousafzai and more. BTS alone will make it a ratings monster.

–Jennifer Garner and Édgar Ramírez visited a migrant shelter at the U.S.-Mexico border.

-The Knives Out 2 cast keeps expanding. Yesterday we heard about Janelle Monáe, and today’s addition is Kathryn Hahn (who’s clearly going to be the murderer, ’cause it was Agatha all along).

–Grimes says she was hospitalized for a panic attack after appearing on SNL.

-I’m assuming Channing Tatum has a social media manager who posted this comment on Jonah Hill‘s post, but it’s hilarious and he should take all the credit.

Evan Rachel Wood Names Marilyn Manson as Her Abuser

–Evan Rachel Wood has accused her ex-fiancé Marilyn Manson of grooming and abusing her for years. The actress has been vocal about being a domestic violence survivor and it was generally suspected that her abuser was Manson, but she has never named him until now, saying ““I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail. I am here to expose this dangerous man & call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins any more lives.” In a show of solidarity, at least four other women posted their own allegations against Manson.

-An interview with Spin back in 2009 is coming back to haunt him, in which he admitted to exhibiting abusive behavior against Wood.

-In the wake of the new allegations (which he has denied in the past), AMC says that a segment of the horror anthology Creepshow featuring Manson will no longer air as planned. He was also just dropped by his music label.

–Dustin Diamond, who played Screech on Saved By The Bell, has passed away at 44, just weeks after being diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. His former Bell costars are paying tribute.

–Meghan Markle’s full name was removed from son Archie’s birth certificate. Instead, she is referred to as Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex, which UK tabloids assumed was somehow her way of sticking it to the royals. She has since made it clear that it wasn’t her decision, but instead was dictated by the palace. Man, they will do anything to erase her, huh?

–Prince Harry has won “substantial damages” from Associated Newspapers, the publisher of The Mail On Sunday and MailOnline, over claims that he “turned his back” on the military.

-Armie Hammer’s estranged wife, Elizabeth Chambers, has made her first public comments since he came under fire for his alleged DMs. She posting on Instagram: “I didn’t realize how much I didn’t know. I support any victim of assault or abuse and urge anyone who has experienced this pain to seek the help she or he needs to heal.”

–Noah Centineo has been cast in an untitled Netflix film about the Wall Street chaos from GameStop’s stock skyrocketing due to Reddit. Which is wild because the drama is still happening! Also this article says “Scott Galloway to consult.” Ah yes, the man who took to Twitter to blame all this on women not keeping guys in check.

-Even more wild: there’s not 1…not 2…but THREE projects in development revolving around the GameStop stock saga on Wall Street.

-Ruh roh. A movie that’s doing well on the festival circuit is accused of being a shot-for-shot ripoff of a graphic novel.

-Gah. There’s a Frasier revival being eyed for Paramount’s streaming service. Yes, why give new stars and voices a shot when we can just keep propping up already rich and establish talent?

–Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett have made a new album together, recorded through Tony’s battle with Alzheimer’s. This bit from the AP interview with them is giving everyone emotions.

–Sir Patrick Stewart moderated a virtual Q&A session with Schitt’s Creek’s Dan Levy, Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, and Annie Murphy and got to geek out.

-The reviews of Netflix’s Firefly Lane — starring Sarah Chalke and Katherine Heigl as two friends through the ages — are not good. At all.

–Ryan Coogler will make a Wakanda series for Disney+, which sounds amazing.

-The latest episode of Disney+’s WandaVision began to answer the most important question: What’s outside of Westview? It also featured it features Kat Dennings and Randall Park reprising their Marvel roles, and an terrifying look at the end of The Blip.

-Also, this was a perfect callback.

-As much as I enjoyed that episode, I wasn’t one of those people clamoring for a faster pace and more answers. This is a good article on the pushback, asking if we’ve all forgotten how to watch TV?

Michelle Williams Urges Pay Equity In Emmy Speech

-If you missed last night’s Emmy Awards, you’re going to want to watch Michelle Williams’ powerful speech.

-The Emmy telecast was an awkward, disjointed mess but they ended up handing out a lot of great awards (and best of all, didn’t deliver the predicted Game of Thrones sweep). There was also a handful of unintentionally hilarious moments, like when Gwyneth Paltrow struggled to walk across the stage in her dress, or when the audience openly laughed at Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner for saying their reality show featured “real people just being themselves, telling real stories unscripted and unfiltered.”

-This photo of Pheobe Waller-Bridge at an Emmy afterparty is a goddamn MOOD.

-On the Emmys red carpet last night, Terrance Howard said he’s retiring from acting because he’s unlocked mathematical secrets and he wants to share them with the world. “I’ve made some discoveries in my own personal life with the science that Pythagoras was searching for. I was able to open up the Flower of Life properly and find the real wave conjugations that we’ve been looking for for 10,000 years…On Tuesday when I receive my star [on the Hollywood Walk of Fame] I’m going to be able to prove that gravity is an effect and not a force.” Uh huh.

-ICYMI, here’s my Emmys red carpet recap, in which I tried to string together a few more words than just “Zendayaaaaaaaaaa!”

-When asked about Shane Gillis’ firing from SNL, Bill Hader said: “I feel like you shouldn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. Especially in comedy, you do stuff six or seven years ago that wouldn’t be okay now for good reason so I only speak for myself but, like anybody, you have to grow. I think it’s a good thing.” That guy’s a good egg.

-Disney CEO Bob Iger says they put out too many Star Wars movies too fast. Gee, ya think?

-In his new memoir, Queer Eye’s Jonathan Van Ness opens up about childhood abuse and reveals he’s HIV-positive.

-This partnership between Jennifer Lawrence and Amazon’s wedding registry is … unexpected.

–Kit Harington has a good strategy for dodging questions about the widely disliked Game of Thrones finale: he says he doesn’t have an opinion because he hasn’t even seen it. Smarter than he looks, that one.

-If Brad Pitt found out about my fangirling of him, I would not have handled it as well as Dax Shepard did.

-Just in case you need a reminder: Chris Pratt remains the worst Chris.

–Jessie J debuted a new love she wrote about Channing Tatum, so that’s still happening.

-Stars could not stop drooling over Jennifer Lopez‘s video of her in the green dress. Celebs — they’re just like us!

–Jonah Hill is in talks to play a villain in The Batman opposite Robert Pattinson — maybe the Penguin.

-The cast of Pitch Perfect reunited to go to a Hustlers screening, which feels all kinds of right.

-Downton Abbey won the weekend box office, proving that older moviegoers can still flex their money muscles.

–Ryan Murphy‘s new Netflix show The Politician, starring Ben Platt and Gwyneth Paltrow, is getting good reviews.

–Kat Dennings deserves a good TV show, and Hulu’s Dollface, produced by Margot Robbie, might finally be it judging by this trailer.

-I’m still on the fence about whether or not we need the Breaking Bad movie, but damn there’s nothing like a tearful Jesse Pinkman to hit me right in my heart guts.
