-This is a really good week for cover stories. For InStyle’s 25th anniversary, they gathered a bunch of stars to look back on their favourite covers, including Jennifer Garner, Julianne Moore, Jennifer Aniston, Kerry Washington, Cameron Diaz, Reese Witherspoon, Halle Berry, Gwyneth Paltrow, and more. All of the videos are great, but the Garner one is gold.

-Speaking of good cover stories, Woody Harrelson tells Esquire that turning down the lead in Jerry Maguire is his biggest career regret.

-Vanity Fair’s Power of Young Hollywood covers feature Cole Sprouse, Stephan James, and Camila Cabello.

–Nic Cage did an interview with the New York Times that has to be read to be believed.

-I also dug this profile of Nicholas Braun, who plays Cousin Greg on Succession (though he will always be Cameron from the TV version of 10 Things I Hate About You to me).

–Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin are still going strong. Huh.

–Jacob Tremblay mistaking Tobey Maguire for his lawyer is giving me life.

–Justin Theroux opened a hipster “dive bar” which seems very douchey and therefore very on-brand.

-Apparently the Pitch revival came close to happening but couldn’t find a home at Disney. Frankly, I’ve been so disappointed by reboots and revivals recently that I’m ok with this.

-The Rookie actress Afton Williamson says she won’t be returning to the ABC drama starring Nathan Fillion, claiming that she faced racial discrimination from the hair department and exec producers, and sexual harassment from a recurring guest star, which escalated at the wrap party.

–Tiffany Haddish is shooting in Toronto and she’s been hanging out at the gym because the men are hot. She clearly goes to a different gym than me.

–Melissa McCarthy saw if we want more women-led movies, we have to buy more tickets to them. She’s not wrong, but I think there’s a bit more to it than that.

-The Ryan Murphy-produced American Crime Story is coming back — and the focus will be on the Clinton presidency scandal, with Monica Lewinsky on board to produce. The cast is stacked: Sarah Paulson as Linda Tripp; Beanie Feldstein as Lewinsky; and Annaleigh Ashford as Paula Jones. I only wish it wasn’t airing in the final weeks leading up to the 2020 election, which seems like a *really* bad time to remind everyone what a human tire fire Clinton could be.

-This is surprising: the 90210 reboot, which premieres tonight, is getting reviews that range from mildly positive to positive to glowing.

–Charlize Theron, Chloë Grace Moretz and Oscar Isaac lend their voices to The Addams Family trailer.

-Congrats to Cardi B who just welcomed her first child — a baby girl she named Kulture Kiari Cephus.

-Everyone else can stop with the #InMyFeelingsChallenge. Sterling K. Brown and Susan Kelechi Watson just won the whole thing with this video to celebrate their first day back on the set of This Is Us.

–Henry Cavill telling GQ that #MeToo has made it more difficult for him to date is a really, really bad look. “It’s very difficult to do that if there are certain rules in place. Because then it’s like, “Well, I don’t want to go up and talk to her, because I’m going to be called a rapist or something.'”

–Kristen Bell wears gloves in the pool to avoid prune-y fingers. Rich people are weird.

-Wow, THR’s cover story is a crazy read. It’s an investigation into a con artist who is impersonating top female execs in Hollywood like Kathleen Kennedy and Amy Pascal as part of a global scam.

–Kylie Jenner is on the cover of Forbes as the youngest self-made billionaire. But exactly how “self-made” is she?

–Sarah Palin feels duped by Sacha Baron Cohen, who she says “heavily disguised himself as a disabled U.S. Veteran” during an interview for his new show. This is the best PR leading up to the premiere the show could have possibly gotten…

–Donald Glover just dropped two new summer-themed songs as Childish Gambino.

-We’re now just a few days behind the US when it comes to Handmaid’s Tale airings (it dropped on Hulu last night; we get it on Bravo on Sunday). I’ve been trying to avoid reviews but the general sentiment from critics on Twitter has been hard to avoid.

-Also, the show cancelled that planned line of wine following all the social media backlash.

-What the hell is “dude-friendly wine“, Stephen Amell?!? Gawd, masculinity is so damn fragile.

-I’m choosing to believe that Justin Theroux wore a Wu-Tang Clan hat in tribute to The Leftovers and Nora’s impromptu tattoo.

–Dwayne Johnson is not running for office in 2020 — but he isn’t ruling out a future presidential run.

-His Skyscraper costar Neve Campbell (who looked ah-maz-ing at the premiere) talked to Stephen Colbert about why she stepped away from acting after Scream.

-Wait, so not only are we getting Jared Leto‘s Joker origin movie, we’re also getting Joaquin Phoenix’s? How many of these things do we really need?

-This sucks: Demi Moore is reportedly the victim of a major credit card fraud case. A man allegedly reported her card missing and then intercepted her new card before racking up $169k in bills.

–Green Day’s “American Idiot” has re-entered the British charts as people are trying to get it to the No. 1 song before Trump’s visit.

-Comic book fans love Y: The Last Man. Like, they LOVE it. At least the casting of FX’s upcoming adaptation is promising. Dunkirk’s Barry Keoghan has landed the role of Yorick, the last living man on Earth after a mysterious illness wipes out every other single male mammal in the world. Imogen Poots will play his sister, Hero, and Diane Lane will play their mother, Senator Jennifer Brown.

-I gave up on The Walking Dead ages ago, but I dig the fact that the new showrunner is a woman.

-Catfish’s Nev Schulman has been cleared of sexual misconduct allegations in an internal MTV investigation.

-Wait, Netflix’s The Kissing Booth started out as a Wattpad fic written by a 15-year-old? That movie makes so much more sense now…

-The fact that all the US TV critics I follow are suddenly gushing over Letterkenny delights me.

-This is an interesting look back at Across The Universe from star Evan Rachel Wood and director Julie Taymor, who talk about the films bungled marketing, and Taymor’s “difficult” reputation.

–Keira Knightley and Dominic West play authors struggling with infidelity in the Colette trailer.

Leaked Audio Reveals Tensions on Lethal Weapon Set

-This has been the *craziest* week of TV news, so it’s fitting that it closes with Variety’s deep-dive into the behind-the-scenes clashes on the set of Lethal Weapon, which includes audio clips of Clayne Crawford calling costar Damon Wayans a p***y and yelling at the crew because of background noise. Variety interviewed 31(!) people who worked on the series who say the set was so toxic that by the end of the season, security guards were present at all times to ensure that disagreements would not deteriorate into physical violence. Wayans also doesn’t come off smelling like a rose; he refuses to do table reads, has to be fed every 2.5 hours, and demands scripts that featured his lines only.

-Speaking of crazy TV news, according to TMZ ABC is in talks to reboot Roseanne and have it be centered around Sara Gilbert’s character.

–Elle Fanning is super smile-y on the cover of Vanity Fair Italia, which I think is very cute. I like that they didn’t use a pouty model pose.

–Pusha T says of his Drake beef: “I’m not censoring myself, there’s more content if it’s needed.” And he’s implying that Drake has been searching for dirt on him in retaliation.

–Kayne West actually dropped his album on schedule. You can listen to it here.

-I don’t actually know if Zendaya and Tom Holland are dating IRL, but this is very cute.

-I love so much about this IG post: it’s a mild but effective denial of rumours that Emma Stone is dating Justin Theroux, and I had no idea that’s she’s BFFs with YTV’s Sugar!

-It’s good to see that Matt Damon and Chris Hemsworth’s bromance is still going strong.

-In an interview with the NYT before her arrest Smallville star Allison Mack revealed disturbing details about her experiences in the Nxivm cult, including that women were expected to have sex with their “master” and do menial chores, and that the branding was her idea.

–Kevin Hart admits he overreacted to an incident that happened on his plane after they’d landed: “We turned into the most dramatic people. Everybody else was so calm. They were grabbing their bags. I got the mask. ‘Can you breathe? Can you breathe?'”

-Killing Eve might be the best reviewed show of the year, and it’s been killing me that we can’t watch it legally here in Canada. But that’s about to change — it debuts on Bravo on July 22.

–Ian McKellen gave the best answer when told that Dumbledore’s queer sexuality wouldn’t be addressed in the new Fantastic Beasts movie.  “That’s a pity. Well, nobody looks to Hollywood for social commentary, do they? They only recently discovered that there were black people in the world. Hollywood has mistreated women in every possible way throughout its history. Gay men don’t exist. Gods and Monsters [1998], I think, was the beginning of Hollywood admitting that there were gay people knocking around, even though half of Hollywood is gay.”

–Harvey Weinstein is facing a new rape allegation in a class action lawsuit that was filed today.

–Emma Thompson plays a judge deciding if she should force a teenage boy to have the blood transfusion that will save his life in The Children Act.
