-There’s nothing like a classic Friday afternoon news dump! According to Page Six, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have called off their two-year engagement.  (People and E! News is also reporting it.) There’s been rumours of trouble ever since that mess with Southern Charm’s Madison.

-The weekend is here! Celebrate by gazing on these glorious photos of Lady Gaga feeding Adam Driver.

Jennifer Garner just experienced a big life milestone at 48 – she got her ears pierced.

-This Sunday’s Grammy Awards are going to look like a real award show — meaning no Zoom.

Elton John says he’ll “hit someone” if Phoebe Bridgers doesn’t win a Grammy on Sunday night. I’ll help.

-Ottawa Public Health has been crushing it on Twitter during covid, and now Ryan Reynolds is chiming in.

-The Mail’s doubling down on their story about “doctored” headlines in the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle interview.

-In his Men’s Health cover story, Michael B. Jordan talks about those rumours that his romance with Lori Harvey is a PR stunt. “I can’t do anything about that, and I’ve just got to accept that and keep moving in my purpose. People that know me know my heart. But people that know me for my work…they know what I allow them to know. The fact that I’ve been so closed off about a lot of parts of my life was a personal choice. As I’ve gotten older and a little more mature and comfortable in my own skin, I’ve become less concerned about it.”

Yara Shahidi was honoured in Glamour UK’s Women of the Year Awards. I watched The Sun Is Also A Star last weekend and spent the whole movie mesmerized by her face.

-Sad there’s no new WandaVision dropping today? A new Disney+ documentary takes viewers inside the making of the show.

-I really like this point about criticisms of Wanda not facing consequences for what she did to Westview. How many fans are calling for Clint to be held accountable for his crimes? Or Tony? Or Bucky?

-Full reviews for Falcon and the Winter Solider are still under embargo, but critics have taken to Twitter to share their initial reactions to the first episode — and it’s all very positive. It sound like it’s going to be much more of a shoot ’em up adventure show than WandaVision was, but there are still some quiet character moments.

Sharon Osbourne is now apologizing for supporting Piers Morgan. “To anyone of colour that I offended and/or to anyone that feels confused or let down by what I said, I am truly sorry.” Her initial meltdown in this clip was textbook white privilege: demanding a Black woman explain racism to her, centering the issue on herself, and weaponizing her tears.

-Ohhhh, people are so mad at Grey’s Anatomy after last night’s episode!

Rebekah Weatherspoon‘s Cowboys of California trilogy is being optioned for TV. Two years ago when I made a concerted effort to stop reading books with only white protags, it lead me to romance (’cause that’s really the only genre that is crushing it, diversity-wise) and this series was the first one I read all the way through.

Hilary Duff is pregnant and she wants the world to know about a symptom that’s called “lightning crotch.”

Peyton List and Lili Taylor star in the Paper Spiders trailer which got raves on the festival circuit.

Jennifer Garner Lives Up to Her ‘Queen of Nice’ Title

Jennifer Garner‘s profile in THR is full of goodness. She talks about a possible Alias revival (“Sign me up. I’ll grab Bradley [Cooper] by the scruff of his neck”), her ex-hubby Ben Affleck (“People are in awe of him. He’s done incredible things, he’s six-four, he’s … him, and [strangers] treat him with a kind of reverence”),  and why she allowed rare photos of their kids at her Walk of Fame ceremony in 2018 (“I don’t have two Oscars on my mantle, I’ve raised them. And I think every little kid has a dream that their mom will have a moment where people applaud her so that they can say, ‘That’s right, I knew it,’ and my kids got to have that and for that I’m grateful”). She also revealed that her daughter Violet was once kicked off a soccer team because the paparazzi caused too much of a distraction.

-It’s Jon Hamm‘s 50th birthday today. Let’s mark the occasion by staring at this glorious pic of him and Jon Bernthal, shall we?

Natalie Portman and Lupita Nyong’o are both taking their first major TV roles in AppleTV’s new limited series, Lady In the Lake.

Ryan Murphy set the record straight amid claims by Naya Rivera’s father that he broke a promise to set up a scholarship fund for her son.

-41,000 viewers filed complaints to ITV against Piers Morgan over his comments on Meghan Markle‘s mental health — and Meghan Markle was one of them.

-Meanwhile, Morgan tweeted, “On Monday, I said I didn’t believe Meghan Markle in her Oprah interview. I’ve had time to reflect on this opinion, and I still don’t.”  (Sidenote: I didn’t realize until I saw this clip that his hatred of her seems to stem from the fact that they once went out for drinks and then she ghosted him — which makes him even more pathetic than I realized.)

CBS will re-air Oprah’s interview with Harry and Meghan on Friday night.

-The people behind Grey’s Anatomy keep making noises about this current season possibly being its last. “I’m planning a season and a finale that could function as either a season finale or a series finale,” showrunner Krista Vernoff told The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m planning for both contingencies and it’s hard and it’s not ideal. It’s not where I wish we were.”

Chloe Sevigny had a secret wedding last year — and she wore black.

Paris Jackson, 22, defended her relationship with Emile Hirsch, 35, after comments about their age difference. When it comes to Hirsch, his age is the least of my concerns.

Winston Marshall is taking some time away from Mumford and Sons after praising a right-wing author.

Justin Bieber calls his latest music video “a love letter to the Toronto Maple Leafs.”

-I don’t watch American Horror Story, but I love that Macaulay Culkin will be in the new season because he deserves all the things.

-Here’s the trailer for HBO’s Tina Turner doc, which premieres March 27.

Pfeiffer, Clooney, Thompson, Yeun, Ahmed and More Cover W

w best performances

-It’s the Best Performances issue of W. I like the styling of everyone’s covers except for Tessa Thompson‘s. Also, the fact that Gal Gadot is included for her work in WW1984 is … something.

Mariah Carey talked to Cardi B for Interview. They chatted about life during lockdown, if they felt beautiful as children, and fears around album releases.

Naomi Campbell looks amazing on the March cover of i-D Magazine, which was shot at her home in Kenya.

Jake Johnson said that when Prince guest starred on New Girl, he would only call him Nick, and would only appear if his storyline helped Nick and Jess getting together. Straight for my shipper heart!

-After Tom Holland, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon trolled fans with fake titles, they revealed in a cute video that the next Spider-Man movie will be called No Way Home.

Zendaya took part in Vanity Fair’s video series The Proust Questionnaire, and quickly rephrased the question “What is the quality you most like in a man?” to “Most like in a person? How about that?”

Mandy Moore has welcomed a son named Gus – which made for a cute Twitter rhyme.

Katharine McPhee is also a first-time mom. She and David Foster welcomed a baby boy.

-Mission: Impossible 7, A Quiet Place Part II and more upcoming Paramount Pictures films are still planning theatrical releases — but they’ll debut on the streaming service Paramount Plus just 45 days later.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may not have official royal duties anymore, but they’re still working on projects for the Commonwealth.

-Also, I love seeing Markle wearing Canadian-made Ecksand jewellery.

-NBC has pulled an episode of the Canadian import Nurses from its digital platforms after it was condemned for its depiction of Orthodox Jews.

-Happy birthday to Daniel Kaluuya, who recently revealed he wasn’t invited to the Get Out premiere at Sundance.

Mark Ruffalo and Jennifer Garner reunited in Canada nearly 17 years after 13 Going on 30.

-Everything old is new again. Ray Donovan has officially been revived for a feature-length movie on Showtime, while the Frasier revival is a go at Paramount.

Issa Rae will produce an HBO adaptation of The Vanishing Half, last year’s buzzy novel from Brit Bennett. Playwright Jeremy O. Harris has also signed on as writer and executive producer. I adored this book — it’s about two light-skinned Black girls who run away from their small southern town to live completely different lives.

-Younger is ending with its seventh season — and moving to Paramount+.

Megan Thee Stallion spoofs Mean Girls in a promotion video for Coach’s Fall 2021 collection.

This NYT profile on notoriously press-shy Frances McDormand is delightful. She brought the writer Fritos!

-It doesn’t look like we’ll get a WandaVision season 2 — but they’re leaving the door open.

-Marvel’s Kevin Feige also suggested Netflix properties like The Punisher and Jessica Jones could return on Disney+.

-Punky Brewster’s Soleil Moon Frye carried a video camera everywhere in the 90s, and the result is a new Hulu documentary filled with famous faces.
