mila-kunis-cosmopolitan

Kate McKinnon interviews costar Mila Kunis in the new issue of Cosmo, in which she talks about first reconnecting with Ashton Kutcher over social media, and how  her family sometimes believes tabloid stories about her.

-The idea of Justin Timberlake begging Drake to do a collab tickles me more than it probably should.

-At a backyard party on the Fourth of July, Chance The Rapper got down on one knee and asked his girlfriend, Kirsten Corley, to marry him. I’m gonna sound like my grandma right now, but he probably should have put a shirt on first.

Idris Elba  is in final talks to play the villain in the Fast and Furious spinoff starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Statham. This is already the best F&F movie ever made! (Somewhere, do you think Vin Diesel is weeping softly?)

-I’m digging season 2 of GLOW but yeah, this one thing is bothers me too (probably because in the first season it never even occurred to me that it could be their endgame).

This tweet compared Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas to New Girl’s Cece and Schmidt and now it’s all I can see.

-The photo of Jay Z wearing a helmet while riding a jet ski has gone viral because…well, have you seen it?

-The Beckhams presented a united front on their 19th anniversary. But no one seems particularly convinced though because we’re all cynical beshes.

Lupita Nyong’o and Kristen Stewart keep inching closer to that Charlie’s Angels reboot that Elizabeth Banks is directing, but nothing’s been confirmed.

-I like that Selena Gomez spent Independence Day with her Wizards of WaverlyPlace costar David Henrie. He seems like a good egg.

Julianna Margulies says she rejected an invite to guest on The Good Fight in season one because she “didn’t think that was fair” to the cast. “I felt like, ‘Get on your own two feet. Do your thing.’ Because if Alicia had come in, in the first season, it would have been [all] about Alicia and The Good Wife. And now it’s their show.” And now TGF has surpassed TGW in every possible way.

-July 4th means Blind Item reveal day on Crazy Days and Nights. I’m side-eyeing most of these, but this one is really nice.

-Rumoured couple Chris Pine and Peaky Blinders star Annabelle Wallis look very couple-y.

Sean Penn and Leonardo DiCaprio being friends makes so much sense to me.

Amy Adams’ HBO show Sharp Objects, which debuts Sunday, continues to get stellar reviews.

T.I. says that he confronted Kanye West about his Trump comments — and their five-hour conversation about politics turned into into a collab.

-You’d think Gillian Anderson would want to stay away from alien-themed pop culture, but here she is in the UFO trailer. I’m not complaining.

Alicia Silverstone Brings Back Cher Horowitz

Alicia Silverstone resurrected her Clueless character  for Lip Sync Battle at it was epic! She looks exactly the same.

-20-year-old rapper XXXTentacion died on Monday following a shooting in South Florida outside a motorcycle dealership.

-In the fallout from Chloe Dykstra‘s essay which accused an ex of emotional and sexual abuse and seemed to imply she was referring to Chris Hardwick, the Nerdist founder has pulled out of Comic Con (where he was supposed to moderate the Doctor Who panel, among other things) and AMC has put his talk show on hold (the second season was supposed to debut on Sunday night with Donald Glover as his guest). Meanwhile, over the weekend Hardwick released a statement — and it’s pretty shitty, with tinges of Gamergate and gaslighting. When he said “As a husband, a son, and future father, I do not condone any kind of mistreatment of women,” I thought, ‘oh wow, his wife is expecting?’ Turns out, NOPE! He just meant that at some point in time he may be responsible for making a girl, which means he couldn’t possibly hurt one now…or something? His repeated mentions of how Chloe cheated on him is also cringe-y. On the (very slight) plus side, his crappy statement has people talking about toxic nerd culture.

-In a new interview, Sandra Bullock says she never worked with Harvey Weinstein, but she’d certainly heard of him. “I only heard what Harvey wanted people to hear, and that made me so f**king angry…People would say, ‘Well, you know how she got that role? She f**ked Harvey.’ I would say, ‘Shut the f**k up. You don’t know that.’ Then, later, to find out that woman was brutally attacked… They didn’t sleep with Harvey. Harvey wanted you to think that.”

-The Ocean’s 8 cast was on the Graham Norton show and it was priceless, from Rihanna telling Helena Bonham Carter why she’s never been invited to the MET gala (“that’s because you wear dresses like that”), to her getting called out for stealing wine glasses from bars.

-Incredibles 2 did incredibly well at the box office this weekend, earning $180 million and breaking the record for best animated debut.

-Actress Amandla Stenberg came out as gay in a new interview for Wonderland.

-Everyone’s still buzzing about the surprise album Beyonce and Jay Z dropped this weekend. I really liked this take about how they are disrupting the very institutions that have proclaimed throughout history that people who look like them don’t belong. (I still can’t believe they shut down the Louvre to shoot a video back in May and she still kept that sh*t locked so tight there were no leaks.)

Idris Elba just dropped a teaser for the new Luther episodes. Gimmie!!

-There’s still lots of questions about what exactly Apple’s streaming TV platform is going to look like, but they continue to keep throwing money at it. They just landed Oprah!

Jon Bernthal, who starred as Shane in The Walking Dead’s first two seasons, is going to appear in an episode of the show’s next season.

-The Darlene-focused Roseanne spinoff is inching closer to reality. THR reports that Roseanne Barr has waived rights to creator fees and backend profits if the spinoff goes ahead, which means the negotiation is now over what, if any, one-time payment she should receive as “go-away money.”

-Do you think Meghan Markle gets advanced warning every time her dad gives a dumb interview? For her sake, I hope so.

-Maybe I’ve just been tainted by this Sex and The City scene, but I really don’t get why celebrities are suddenly into pear-shaped diamonds.

Ariana Grande has a song on her new album called “Pete” so…yeah.

-The MTV Movie & TV Awards red carpet was all over the place, style-wise.

-During their emotional reunion, John Cena vowed to get his vasectomy reversed so he could give Nikki Bella a kid. Look, this may all have been fake drama for wrestling, but I’ve been weirdly invested in these two ever since he kind of got teary about the breakup on the Today Show.

Kristen Bell gets dumped at the alter and ends up taking her honeymoon cruise with her estranged father (played by Kelsey Grammer) in the trailer for Netflix’s Like Father.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z Get Personal On New Tour

-For a family that’s usually so private, I’m surprised Beyonce and Jay Z’s kickoff of the On the Run II tour featured so much personal family footage. The twins were glimpsed in video of what looked like a wedding vow renewal celebration, Blue Ivy‘s dance moves were showcased, and the couple even entered the stage in an elevator!

-In a new interview, Arrested Development’s Alia Shawkat opened up about that disastrous NYT cast interview and it just made me like her more. “I know I said a little, but what I wish I had said was, ‘Stop talking. Stop. Jessica, go on.’…I hope that the guys on the show and now all these men of all different ages start to communicate with the women in their lives, the women they work with, and just ask openly with no shame, ‘What can I do to be better?'”

Reese Witherspoon announced that she’ll reprise her role as Elle Woods with a video of her floating in her pool. I’d prefer a bend ‘n snap, but this also works.

-Why am I in no way surprised that Mariah Carey bathes in milk?

-Anyone else hearing lots of whispers about the Beckhams today? What’s going on?!?

-Male movie critics are fine but I really wanted to read a female critic’s perspective on Ocean’s 8 — and I loved this take from NPR’s Linda Holmes, who says it’s a breezy and adventurous heist movie that doubles as a clever commentary on Hollywood and actresses.

Anne Hathaway said she was very aware after having her first baby that she weighed a little more than she was used to, but felt better about it after Rihanna gave her a compliment  on the Ocean’s 8 set. “Rihanna looks up and goes, ‘Damn girl, you got a ass!’ I was like, ‘Really?’ And she goes, ‘You got a ass like me!'”

Jann Arden is getting her own sitcom? She’ll play “a formerly famous Canadian singer desperately trying to make herself relevant again.” I want this in my eyeballs now!

-In a Vulture interview, Conan O’Brien talks about networks’ aversion to change by comparing traditional broadcasters to Hans Gruber, and the internet to John McClane. It’s pretty apt.

-The Queer Eye season 2 trailer made me tear up, so all is right with the world.

-This Iggy Azalea tale  made me laugh out loud.

-Yay! FX has ordered a third season of Atlanta.

Samantha Bee expanded on her apology about using the term “feckless c**t.” “I should have known a potty-mouth insult would be inherently more interesting…than juvenile immigration policy.” As the Show Your Work podcast pointed out this week, she’s being incredibly smart about what and who she is apologizing for/to, and what/who she isn’t.

Mila Kunis says of working with a female director for the first time on The Spy Who Dumped Me: “There’s a noticeable difference. No one is yelling at each other…Nobody got mad…no screaming matches. At 7 o’clock, bye, go home. I got to see my kids for dinner. It was lovely.”

Ava DuVernay gave a shout out to the 25 women who directed Queen Sugar episodes — 21 of whom had never directed TV before.

Greg Berlanti, who already has a TV record 14(!) scripted series on the air, just inked a four-year extension at WarnerBrosTV that will pay him $400 million in what THR is reporting is an all-cash deal. So don’t except an non-Berlanti show on the CW until 2025 or so…

-In between songs on Carpool Karaoke, Shawn Mendes talked about living on his own in Toronto.  I wonder if he’s a Forest Hill kind of guy, or more of an Annex type?

Scott Wolfe just turned 50 and posted this shirtless pic. Bailey is benjamin buttoning before our eyes!

-Tag looks ridiculous (I mean, it’s literally a movie about a game of tag? Really??) but at least the cast seems like they are having an amazing time on the press tour. This video cracked me up.

Channing Tatum flirting with Chris Hemsworth in Instagram comments is my new aesthetic.

Drew Goddard‘s hotel is hiding some dark secrets in the Bad Times at the El Royale trailer, starring Chris Hemsworth Jon Hamm and Dakota Johnson.

-Guys, I don’t hate the trailer for Bumblebee, starring Hailee Steinfeld and John Cena. My world is askew.

Claire Foy is fierce in the trailer for Girl in the Spider’s Web, the next chapter of the Dragon Tattoo series. Playing Lisbeth Salander is really smart career move for her, since she’s mostly known for portraying the Queen of England in The Crown.

Anne Hathaway tries to convince her ex-husband, played by Matthew McConaughey, to kill her current husband in the trippy Serenity trailer, which is sure to mess with your head (and not just because there’s not a browncoat in sight).
