Mindy Kaling Is Pregnant?

-Jeepers von creepers, Mindy Kaling is reportedly pregnant! A source tells E! News that the future arrival for the 38-year-old actress was “an unexpected surprise.” Part of me is super curious about the dad, part of me hopes she January Joneses it and reveals nothing, and all of me is super happy for her. She’s talked a lot in the past about wanting kids, so mazel.

–Mindy had a busy weekend. Before this news broke, she joined Oprah and Reese Witherspoon at the D23Expo to unveil the first trailer for A Wrinkle In Time, which looks amazing!

-Everyone at D23 lost their poo over the Avengers: Infinity War footage shown, but a good quality version has yet to leak and we’re not getting the first trailer until November.

-I really like this video of Don Cheadle and Mark Ruffalo at D23. You can see Don trying to pull Mark back from bad-talking Universal Studios, and then it just turns into a mutual lovefest.

-If you only read one thing today, read Buzzfeed’s exposé on R. Kelly. The parents of three young girls are claiming he’s holding them at his home against their will in a “cult.” The article is disturbing and certainly sounds like an older man grooming his victims.  The craziest thing about this is all the fans who came out to cape for him on Twitter today. How is this still happening?! Do we really care so little about young black women? People have known about him for 20 years now, and if anything, it sounds like instead of facing consequences he’s actually been escalating his behaviours. Everyone involved needs to be held accountable for this: his label, the people who still collaborate with him (looking at you, Gaga and Pitchfork), and everyone who still blindly stans him.

-A statement through his lawyer says he “unequivocally denies such allegations.”

-Look, I’m not sure I believe this story about Taylor Swift being smuggled out of her house in a box, but this has been the Monday-iest of all Mondays and I NEED it!

-Congrats to Kate Mara and Jamie Bell, who got married in a secret ceremony after two years of dating.

-If all goes as planned, the Wonder Woman sequel will be announced later this week at Comic Con.

-Yikes. Spider-Man: Homecoming suffered Marvel’s worst second-weekend drop ever. In happier box office news, The Big Sick expanded nation-wide this weekend and is doing really well.

-The Aladdin movie continues to make headlines — and not in a good way. After this weekend’s lukewarm response to the cast reveal comes news that Guy Ritchie’s script is being re-written — by a blonde white lady.

-I hate this nipple-y shot of Nicole Kidman on the cover of Love magazine. Hate it.

-It’s a big week for Attack the Block stars. Jodie Whittaker was announced as the first female doctor on Doctor Who (which of course made all the butthurt fanboys cry), and John Boyega landed on the cover of GQ, where he talked about getting relationship advice from Robert Downey Jr. and Orlando Bloom over waffles.

-Disney says it fired Kermit the Frog voice actor of 27 years over “unacceptable business conduct.”

–Alec Baldwin is set to play the Jack Nicholson role in NBC’s live production of A Few Good Men. Huh.

–Rainn Wilson wants you all to stop reminding him of the role that made him famous, ok?

-Yay for Jordan Peele and Chelsea Peretti, who welcomed their first child.

-The new Blade Runner 2049 trailer looks great.

-Atlanta breakout Lakeith Stanfield plays a young man from Brooklyn sent to prison for a murder he didn’t commit in the Crown Heights trailer.

Kate Mara and Jamie Bell Are A Couple

-It looks like something good actually came out of the Fantastic Four movie: Kate Mara and Jamie Bell are dating.

–Anthony Mackie just dropped another jewel of wisdom: “Some people aren’t made for democracy. Some people need a dictator.” Dear god, where are his people?!

–Bobby Cannavale and Rose Byrne (aka – the celebrity couple I always forget are together but then get so happy all over again whenever I remember) are expecting.

–Eddie Murphy doesn’t like David Spade, and David totally understands why.

–Kate Winslet has a no airbrushing clause in her L’Oreal contract, because she’s the goddamn best.

–Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller‘s Twitter Q&A to promote Burnt is pretty great. I’m really jealous about all the training they got from Michelin-starred chefs. Bradley probably should never be allowed to operate the camera again, though.

-Meanwhile, here’s a look at Bradley Cooper and Jimmy Kimmel back when they were just drunk bros with dreams.

–The Weeknd avoided jail time by pleading no contest to punching Las Vegas police officer.

–Natalie Portman‘s Jane Got a Gun is finally coming out…in February. That doesn’t bode well.

-The new cast photo for The Good Wife is hilarious. It’s like they *want* us to wonder if they were even in the same room when this was shot.

–Adele’s new song is lovely, but Xavier Dolan’s video direction (using an IMAX camera and shot in Montreal) is STUNNING.

-Here’s the first full trailer for Netflix’s Jessica Jones. I’m not sure any other TV show has hooked me so quickly from a promo. Get in my eyeballs!!

–Amy Poehler is releasing a book in October called Yes, Please (also known as “what I’m getting every single person I know for Christmas.” You’re welcome.).

-Sadness: Evan Rachel Wood and Jamie Bell have split after nearly two years of marriage. I like them both and wish them well!

-A new video clip shows One Direction’s squeaky clean Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik smoking pot on their way to a concert. And so it begins…

–Hayden Panettiere is reportedly expecting her first child with fiance Wladimir Klitschko. She’s actually the best thing about Nashville (which pains me to say when Tami Taylor is also on that show, but it’s true.)

-Instagram took down a photo of a sweatshirt Scout Willis designed that features naked women, so she protested the social network site by walking around New York topless.

-The Hollywood Reporter asked Robert Pattinson if he still talks to Kristen Stewart. “Oh, yeah,” he said blithely.

–Tom Cruise’s new Edge of Tomorrow movie is tracking soft in the US. Should Johnny Depp start making space for him in Hollywood jail?

-Not tracking soft is Angelina Jolie‘s Maleficent, which I’m seeing tonight. Something tells me I’m going to walk out of that thing with a cheekbone complex.

–Gwyneth Paltrow says that being a celebrity who faces online criticism is like being in a war. Oh god. She just makes it so easy, doesn’t she?

–Katy Perry has scored Cosmopolitan’s first-ever global cover, which means she’ll be gracing the July cover of all 62 editions.

-I really like this article about how Seth Rogen proved Washington Post writer Ann Hornaday’s point about Elliot Rodger. Yes, Hornaday could have chosen a better example of misogynist pop culture than Neighbors (how about Mixology, which I stopped watching after one episode when it became clear the main character’s catchphrase would be “I’m going to smash her out!”), but Rogen’s knee-jerk reaction on Twitter was bad form. Also, as a Washington Post editor tweeted today, “Dear celebrities criticizing WaPo: Your objections would seem more sincere if you accepted our offer to respond in more than 140 characters.”

–Levar Burton has started a Kickstarter to bring back Reading Rainbow. Get on that, parent types.

–Monica Lewinsky‘s full essay in Vanity Fair is now online, if you were too cheap to buy the print issue.

-An Australian newspaper offered a ridiculous justification for publishing Kate Middleton‘s butt photos. As Jezebel states, “At parts, it reads like Ayn Rand does upskirt photography.”

-Here’s a good article examining the fascinating racial component of Louie. I was both confused and impressed by last episode’s flashback, in which his wife was white.

–George RR Martin‘s tweet about Kimye’s wedding made me laugh out loud.

-This Ant Man news just keeps getting worse. More details about Edgar Wright’s exit suggest “Ant-Man’s tone might have been too quirky for the Marvel universe.” Um, have they not seen the Guardians of the Galaxy trailers?!

–Benji Madden is reportedly madly in love with Cameron Diaz.  I’m sorry, but I just can’t take anything about a guy called Benji seriously.

–Rick Ross got a new face tattoo on his chin that says “Rich Forever.” It’s about as attractive as you’d expect.

–Taylor Kitsch seems to be the only person alive who is sad that a John Carter sequel will never happen.

–Jonah Hill told a hilarious story about shooting a film with Morgan Freeman, who didn’t talk to him at all between takes — unless it was to banana song his name.

–Tom Ford thinks Rihanna‘s Instagram account wields more power than any fashion magazine. Guess who’s about to be flooded with (even more) free stuff?

–Amy Schumer‘s skit on a bachelorette disaster is beyond priceless.

-Finally, here’s our first glimpse of footage from FX’s The Strain. I’m already terrified.
