Taylor Swift’s Holiday Home Movies

Taylor Swift grew up on a Christmas tree farm so it makes sense that she wrote a holiday song called “Christmas Tree Farm.” The video, released just days after she wrote the tune, features home movies of her as a kid and is undeniably adorable.

-Queer Eye’ star Jonathan Van Ness is the first non-female to grace a Cosmo cover since Boy George.

Jennifer Garner showed off her giant Christmas tree. “I’m not sure this is the tree we picked out. It’s a little aggressive.” (Also, she says ‘foyer’ weird.)

-Variety went deep with Billy Eilish and brother Finneas O’Connell for their new cover story.

-I friggin’ love that Robbie Amell did interviews for his new movie at Pai because it’s his fave Toronto restaurant. He’s not wrong. (Great cameo by Chef Nuit, too.)

James Corden and Max Greenfield made an aspiring screenwriter’s dreams come true in a Starbucks.

-My god, just shut down every version of Big Brother immediately. This show is a trainwreck in every country.

-In honour of Marriage Story hitting Netflix today, Vulture did a feature on how Adam Driver looks ridiculously tall in that movie. (“What we are gathered here today to discuss is how much fun it is to see Adam Driver, big boy, squeeze himself into small things.”)

-Wait, now Amy Sedaris is in The Mandalorian? I’m gonna have to watch this sucker, aren’t I?

-This is a very good, very deep dive into the reporting style of the National Enquirer.

-All the brands who replied to this Netflix tweet nailed it. (Scroll through the photos for responses.)

Tom Holland may have saved the Spider-Man movies by drunkenly calling Disney head Bob Iger at a pub in tears. “I’m like three pints in, I haven’t eaten much…I was really emotional because I felt like it was all coming to an end.”

Keri Russell and Oscar Isaac are the real dream duo on this promo tour.

-Here’s a lovely moment of Jodie Whittaker getting a silver disc for her cover of Coldplay’s Yellow.

Felicity Jones and Eddie Redmayne star in the trailer for The Aeronauts, a film that got lukewarm reviews on the festival circuit.

Ryan Reynolds Gets Duped By Hugh Jackman & Jake Gyllenhaal

-This Ryan Reynolds tweet made me laugh a lot.

-Speaking of Jake Gyllenhaal, he’s reportedly dating a 22-year-old model. Sure.

-Wait, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas had two more wedding receptions this week? Is this just their life now?

-An old video of Chris Rock, Louis CK and Ricky Gervais freely talking about using the n-word on stage has resurfaced, and people are not happy. (Jerry Seinfeld was also part of the conversation, but acquitted himself well by seeming uncomfortable and refusing to repeat the word: “You’ve found the humour of it. I haven’t found it, nor do I seek it.”)

-On the Tonight Show, Felicity Jones attempted some Beyonce moves and it went better than you’d expect.

-Old Beyonce songs were leaked on Spotify somehow, and everyone melted down thinking they were new. (They were not. Bah humbug!)

-Speaking of new music, Rihanna confirmed in an IG comment to a fan that she’s releasing new music in 2019.

-This video of Michelle Obama and Jimmy Fallon surprising people when the elevator doors open is a delight!

-The original stars of 90210 were all spotted having coffee together after a meeting in LA, leading to speculation that a reboot is in the works. Sigh. Why not?

Miley Cyrus just updated “Santa Baby” and turned it into a feminist anthem. “Santa baby, I’d love to know my ass won’t get grabbed at work by some ignorant jerk.”

Kristen Stewart might have a new girlfriend.

-Uh, did Jessica Mulroney just offer the Daily Mail a look inside her Toronto home? Being Meghan Markle‘s BFF sure is working out for her.

-Aw shit. Cardi B and Offset were spotted looking cozy and reunited in Puerto Rico.

Dylan O’Brien and Britt Robertson, who’ve been dating since 2012, have reportedly split.

Demi Lovato took to Twitter to deny the “sources” of a recent tabloid story about her recovery. She added: “Someday I’ll tell the world what exactly happened, why it happened and what my life is like today.. but until I’m ready to share that with people please stop prying and making up shit that you know nothing about. I still need space and time to heal.”

Colin Farrell used a recent talk show appearance to shine a spotlight on his friend who’s suffering from Epidermolysis bullosa.

-This is an interesting interview with showrunners over the need for Hollywood to learn how to handle sex scenes better. This is a side effect of peak TV: a bunch of writers/directors are now running TV shows who have no idea deal with people management.

Sandra Bullock‘s new Netflix movie Bird Box isn’t getting great reviews.  According to my Twitter feed, people don’t seem to care.

-This is a good piece about feeling alienated from a lot of the “girl power” messaging at the movies and TV this year. I follow an academic on Twitter who’s summed this phenomenon up perfectly: plastic representation.

-Tell your mother to stop worrying: Mark Harmon‘s rep slammed the “completely false” rumour the actor is leaving NCIS.

-Congrats to Andy Cohen, who announced he’s going to be a father.

-Yay for the new Catastrophe trailer! The new season starts in January.

-The I’m Not Here trailer is stacked with celebs, including JK Simmons, Mandy Moore, Sebastian Stan and Max Greenfield.

-In the Greta trailer, Chloë Grace Moretz plays a naïve New Yorker who returns a purse she finds on the subway to Isabelle Huppert — and then things get scary.

Brie Larson Is Ready To Save Us as Captain Marvel

Brie Larson Captain Marvel EW

-Everyone was sort of expecting a Captain Marvel trailer to drop today, but instead we got this EW cover and a bunch of new photos of Brie Larson in character. We’ll take it! (I dig the costume.)

-Meanwhile, Brie Larson and Alison Brie are apparently workout buddies. Do you think they call themselves Brie Squared? The Double Bries?

-Doctor Who’s Jodie Whittaker is stunning in Givenchy on the cover of Marie Claire UK.

-In other cover news, Felicity Jones channels 80’s businesswomen on the new cover of Vanity Fair.

Kanye West took to Twitter today to apologize to Drake, saying “Let me start by apologizing for stepping on your release date in the first place,” before shutting down conspiracy theories that claimed West fed Pusha T gossip about Drake’s son for Pusha’s diss track “The Story of Adidon,” saying “I don’t play with the idea of people’s children after I spoke to Wiz [Khalifa] a few years earlier.”

-You’ve probably seen Lucas Hedges by now (he was in Lady Bird, Manchester By the Sea, and Three Billboards), but he’s about to make it huge this fall with three splashy movie roles and his Broadway debut. In a new interview with Vulture, he talks about his self-doubt (“Mostly I felt like every movie I did, I was the worst part of it”), and his sexuality (“Not totally straight, but also not gay and not necessarily bisexual”).

Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon are relationship goals.

-I’m too washed to care about all the drama going down on Noah Cyrus and Lil Zan‘s Instagram accounts — but it’s a lot.

-The L.A. District Attorney has declined to pursue sex crime cases against Kevin Spacey, Anthony Anderson and Steven Seagal.

-This is an interesting look at how Twitter is helping with people’s careers amid peak TV’s push to diversify writers rooms.

-The are they/aren’t they surrounding Zendaya and Tom Holland is making my head hurt.

-The new season of House of Cards isn’t playing. They’ve already killed off Frank Underwood, according to the new trailer.

-There is a lot going on in the first trailer for American Horror Story: Apocalypse. (Mostly, I’m just hoping Mary Cherry survives the plane crash.)
