Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Set a Date

-Mark your calendars and plan to get up in the middle of the night to watch a fancy wedding: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will marry on May 19, 2018.

-Why was Tiffany Haddish‘s new book co-written by bro-douche Tucker Max. WHYYYYYYY?????

Dustin Hoffman has now been accused of exposing himself to teen girls and assaulting more women.

-Meanwhile, the NYPD designated a team within the Special Victims Unit to review sexual misconduct allegations involving famous men that are “coming up almost daily.”

-JFC, can we just cancel Matt Damon already? On the current reckoning currently dismantling Hollywood, he had lots of crappy things to say, including “You know, there’s a difference between, you know, patting someone on the butt and rape or child molestation, right?” He also talks about the high “price” Louis CK has paid.  WTF. People much smarter than I am have already outlined why his statements suck so hard, including his ex Minnie Driver, who tweeted “Gosh it’s so *interesting how men with all these opinions about women’s differentiation between sexual misconduct, assault and rape reveal themselves to be utterly tone deaf and as a result, systemically part of the problem (*profoundly unsurprising)”.

-Speaking of problematic statements from actors, Tom Hanks just said “If you threw out every film or TV show that was made by an a–hole, Netflix would go out of business” and tried to argue for the separation of art and artists by saying “Picasso was a womanizer, this is not excusing anybody…I think work does speak for itself, but character does come into the conversation at some point, but I think that lands over time.” Who’s talking about womanizers and a–holes? The conversations is about harassers, assaulters an rapists. Stop conflating them.

Peter Jackson says the Weinstein brothers orchestrated a smear campaign that led  him to blacklist Ashley Judd and Mira Sorvino. Sorvino tweeted: “Just seeing this after I awoke, I burst out crying. There it is, confirmation that Harvey Weinstein derailed my career, something I suspected but was unsure.”

-The NCIS: New Orleans showrunner is still employed by CBS after two HR investigations. Krista Vernoff, the executive producer and showrunner of Grey’s Anatomy, just went on the record about his terrible treatment of her and other women on the set of Charmed.

-Expect The Last Jedi to soar to $200M this weekend. On Friday alone, it’s tipped to earn anywhere from $95-$100M.

-I recently heard that Drake went to a Toronto restaurant and ate in the back room by himself (flanked by security guards) and it made me sad. Much like this photo does.

-But this photo from The Post premiere is wonderful.

-I love that at the welcome party for new Vanity Fair editor Radhika Jones, Anna Wintour gifted everyone with pairs of fox tights.

-PBS is doing a new mini-series based on Little Women and I really need that in my life right now.

Sarah Paulson talked about her unexpected friendship with Rihanna and it was lovely.

Oprah Interviews Jennifer Lawrence for The Hollywood Reporter

jennifer_lawrence_oprah

Jennifer Lawrence talked about what it was like to be interviewed by Oprah for the new issue of THR: “I went to her house, which was just insane. I left crying. I called my parents. It was just life-changing.” The interview isn’t ground-breaking, but she talks about wanting to meet Trump (“I’ve got a pretty good speech. And it ends with a martini to the face.”). Also, I love that she calls it “Twittering.”

-Oh my goodness, I love this Nicole Kidman cover.

-Time named the “silence breakers” their person of the year. People have a lot of issues with Taylor Swift’s inclusion on the cover. I don’t hate it because of how she stood up for herself (and women in general) in her lawsuit with that DJ, but I agree that I would have loved to see Kesha, Tarana Burke, Terry Crews or Gabrielle Union in that cover spot instead.

Ron Pearlman, Michael Rapaport and Alec Baldwin are all showing their true colours, claiming that John Oliver shouldn’t have made Dustin Hoffman uncomfortable by grilling him in a professional setting. You know what else is uncomfortable? Being sexually harassed in a professional setting. It’s always the right time to talk about it. Not talking about this stuff in public is how Hollywood found itself where it is now.

-Whoa. Jeffrey Tambor now says he has not quit Transparent and has no plans to do so.

-The two reporters at the NYT who first covered the Weinstein story have published a fascinating followup about the complicity machine that he built. It’s full of crazy tidbits, from publications that would suppress stories in exchange for star access, to a gossip columnist he hired to dig up dirt on celebs which he would give tabloids in exchange for them not writing about him, to Lena Dunham‘s claim that that she urged Hilary’s campaign to distance themselves from him by saying “Harvey’s a rapist and this is going to come out at some point.”

-Authorities appear to have found audio that verifies Corey Feldman‘s claims that he spoke to the police in 1993 and identified his alleged industry sexual abusers.

Beyoncé made a surprise appearance at the the Sports Illustrated Awards last night to present Colin Kaepernick with the Muhammad Ali Legacy Award.

-The early reviews for Steven Spielberg‘s The Post suggest this thing is going to crush the Oscars.

Ryan Reynolds will star as Detective Pikachu in a Pokemon movie. What?

-Sandra Bullock is previewing the all-female Oceans 8 film in the new issue of EW.

-This photo of James McAvoy has pretty much set Twitter on fire.

Fergie interrupted Armie Hammer on stage at a charity event and it was super uncomfortable.

Mariah Carey reportedly got a $5-10 million settlement from her billionaire ex-fiance for wasting her time. Is that how that works? Man, I have so many people in my life I need to sue…

Gal Gadot says the fictional character she most identifies with is Borat. (My favourite answer to that question is Amy Pascal’s: “Gillian Anderson’s Stella Gibson in The Fall. She fucks everybody and wears these gorgeous silk shirts and is really tough and smart.”)

Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman are doing a crafting show? Yes, please!

-Here’s the first trailer for Black Mirror season 4, which debuts Dec 29 on Netflix — just around the time you’ll be looking to escape your family!

Zendaya Covers InStyle

Zendaya looks amazing on the cover of Instyle. Is there nothing she can’t pull off? (Oh wait, I just saw the horse dress. Never mind.)

Chance The Rapper is very good at Twitter.

Kate Hudson declared her love for music producer Danny Fujikawa in an Instagram post.

Ben Affleck reportedly rented an Upper West Side apartment for Lindsay Shookus that costs $28,000 a month. But isn’t she an SNL producer? Couldn’t she rent her own apt?

-This article about how Meghan Markle is everything Ivanka Trump wishes she could be is just perfect. *chef’s fingers kiss*

Selena Gomez is the most followed person on Instagram — and she just switched her account to private.

-God bless Vulture for diving deep into an investigation on the muscular Korean guy spotted with Lindsay Lohan.

Beyonce and Jay-Z are just messing with us at this point.

Katherine McPhee crashed a wedding and then reportedly called the bride a “loser” for kicking her out. Charming.

-Filming was suspended on Blake Lively‘s new movie after she hurt her hand.

-Every year, IndieWire’s David Ehrlich does a 13-minute montage of the year’s 25 best movies. I missed so many!

-God bless John Oliver for grilling Dustin Hoffman over sexual harassment allegations and refusing to back down. When Hoffman starting to say “Well, there’s a point in her not bringing it up for 40 years” I actually yelled “NOPE!!” out loud. (Oliver’s reaction of “Oh, Dustin” and putting his head in his hands was probably better.)

-Also, according to Terry Crews, Hoffman’s agent is Adam Venit, who Crews accused of groping him.

-Meanwhile, this is a great piece on the utter failure of male apologies this year.

Gabriel Byrne says that Kevin Spacey‘s behavior shut down the Usual Suspects filming for 2 days. “It was only years later that we began to understand that [filming] was closed down for a particular reason and that was because of inappropriate sexual behavior by Spacey.”

More allegations have come out against Prison Break/iZombie actor Robert Knepper. They’re awful. He denied all allegations, adding “Until I can sit down and have a dialogue with my accusers, managed not by the press but by an impartial mediator, I have nothing further to say on this matter.” How about a judge? Would a judge work?

-Netflix FINALLY cuts ties with Danny Masterson amid rape allegations. He’ll be written out of The Ranch. He released a statement about it, proclaiming his innocence.

-Despite not being super impressed with his behaviour at TIFF, I was starting to root for Armie Hammer. And then he had to go and Milkshake Duck himself by saying the only reason he wouldn’t work with Roman Polanski is because “there’s going to be drama” and that judging what he’s done is “a gray area.”

-It feels like something big is about to break with Bryan Singer, no? His production company is vacating the Fox lot after his firing. Meanwhile, he says he was fired from the Freddie Mercury biopic because he was taking care of an ill parent.

-I recommend reading this Daily Beast interview with the guy who runs the blind-item site Crazy Days and Nights. He had blinds about Weinstein, Spacey, and Lauer for years.

-I didn’t ship them on the show, but Stranger Things’ Charlie Heaton and Natalia Dyer are a pretty darn cute couple IRL.

-This sweet Mark Hamill story might be my fave celeb story I’ve read in a while.

-I’m really glad I’m not the only one who still isn’t over the fact that the CW crossover turned all our heroes into Nazis. NAZIS!

-Here’s the international trailer for The Last Jedi.
