Halsey, who has been open about suffering multiple miscarriages over the years, has announced she’s expecting her first child with Alev Aydin.

-The first image of Kristen Stewart as Princess Diana in the upcoming film Spencer has landed. I was skeptical of her initial casting, but the resemblance is remarkable. And if anyone can play a person reluctant about their sudden fame, it’s her.

Kim Kardashian West reportedly has her divorce exit plan “ready to go.” A source tells Us Weekly: “Kim has had all of her and Kanye’s financials and properties ready to be split, it’s a very fair deal for everyone.”

-Movie theatres have had a rough go of it lately, but AMC just erased its 20220 pandemic losses — because of Reddit.  Basically, a subreddit has decided to take down hedge funds by inflating the stock of shorted companies like AMC, Gamestop, Bed Bath & Beyond, and a few others. This thread is probably the simplest explanation of what’s going on that I’ve see so far.

Christa B. Allen will be invited to the Revenge reunion after all now that organizers said they’ve changed platforms so now they no longer have a tech-based limit of four castmembers. Um, they know we all know how Zoom works at this point, right?

Dakota Johnson says she’s used George Clooney’s name to get dinner reservations. She eventually told him and he was cool with it.

Pamela Anderson secretly tied the knot with her bodyguard on Christmas Eve — 11 months after her nonlegal wedding to Jon Peters.

-Conservatives are big mad over Alyssa Milano being cast in a Nora Roberts adaptation.

-Netflix says it has a new most-watched series in Bridgerton: a record 82 million households around the world tuned in in its first 28 days, making it the streamer’s biggest series ever. I still side-eye all of Netflix’s “ratings” releases, but hopefully this will usher in a bunch of romance adaptations.

-The first images from Netflix’s Shadow and Bone adaptation are here and I’m excited. I don’t usually read fantasy but a friend recommended that series and I devoured it.

-Who in the world in Lindsay Lohan‘s camp is trying to suppress the first bit of good press she’s gotten in years?!

Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci’s new film Supernova, in which they play a couple dealing with illness, is getting rave reviews.

-On the flip side, Netflix’s Malcolm & Marie, starring Zendaya and John David Washington, is not getting good reviews. “A screechy and solipsistic debate about identity politics that was made because Zendaya was bored during lockdown.”

-Top Gun: Maverick is still holding out for a summer release, which seems wildly optimistic.

Paul Bettany says Avengers: Age of Ultron director Joss Whedon “really, really wanted” Vision to have a penis in his “birth” scene. “And everyone, [Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige] and [Marvel Studios co-president Louis D’Esposito], I mean everybody was like ‘I don’t know, Joss…I mean…I’m not sure…'”

Kate Moss and her daughter walked the runway together.

Cloris Leachman has passed away at 94.

-Sloan’s Chris Murphy has been diagnosed with Bell’s palsy.

-The Bold Type will end with an abbreviated fifth and final season this year.

Selena Gomez announced she’ll be releasing a whole EP in Spanish, Revelación, on March 12.

Gary Oldman and Armie Hammer star in the trailer for Crisis, Nicholas Jarecki’s Arbitrage follow-up. The timing of this is bad on so many levels.

Canada Celebrates Schitt’s Creek’s Sweep

-Toronto celebrated Schitt’s Creek’s historic Emmy sweep by lighting the CN Tower gold last night, and the cast was loving it.

Kelly Clarkson opened up about her recent divorce on her talk show’s first day back, saying “Definitely didn’t see anything coming that came, but what I’m dealing with is hard — it involves more than just my heart, it involves a lot of little hearts.”

-When Ellen Degeneres‘ show returned to production this week, she “jokingly” told staff not to look her in the eye. What a funny joke that they must have really appreciated!

Tiffany Haddish says one of the perks of dating Common is she gets to quarantine at his house. “Yeah, his house is bigger than my house, so that’s nice. He lives in the Hills. It’s nice.”

-Gabrielle Union will lead a table read of a classic Friends episode over Zoom on September 22. If they keep doing these things, the HBO Max reunion will soon become moot … as maybe it should?

-The upcoming season of Supergirl will be its last. Melissa Benoist is pregnant and her husband is no longer on the show, so I wonder if she no longer wants to be stuck in Vancouver for 8 months of the year. I assume some of the actors may end up on the new Superman & Lois show.

-Despite the Daily Mail’s legal defense, Meghan Markle’s lawyers continue to deny she co-operated with the authors of the recently released book Finding Freedom.

Kate Middleton enjoyed some socially distanced park hangs to support parent-powered support programs.

Mel Gibson is reportedly making a Passion of the Christ sequel because the bad news just never ends.

-The Billboard Music Awards nominations came out today and Post Malone tops the list with 16 nods.

-Do I have to start watching Jann Arden’s sitcom? Because this clip of her beating up Sarah McLachlan is hilarious.

-This interviewer talking to Judith Butler seemed sympathetic to J.K. Rowling, but Butler was NOT HAVING IT.

Vanessa Bryant is suing the L.A. County Sheriff and his department, claiming authorities released unauthorized photos of the helicopter crash that killed her husband, Kobe Bryant, and their daughter.

-Is Tenet a flop? It’s complicated but the short answer is yes.

-I’ve been in fandoms. I love fandoms. But sometimes fandoms can be super messy, and it gets even messier when creators/stars try to police them. That said, this is a very good PSA from former RuPaul’s Drag Race contestants about the racism within that fandom.

-Celebrate the first day of fall with the Supernova trailer, which features Colin Firth in a variety of sweaters. He plays a man whose partner of 20 years (Stanley Tucci) is diagnosed with dementia.

Jennifer Aniston’s Latest Role: Firefighter

Jennifer Aniston proved she’s handy with a fire extinguisher when a bit got more dangerous than expected. Emmy head writer Molly McNearney, who’s married to Jimmy Kimmel, said the fire was supposed to go out immediately. “That was very scary, by the way. I may have grabbed some arms [backstage] to hold them back. Which is kind of crazy, ‘let my husband burn!’ But I didn’t want people rushing out. I knew that they would figure it out.”

McNearney also explained how Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow were celebrating the Emmys inside Jennifer Aniston’s house: “Those women have been in a pod for a long time. And they’ve been testing every day.” Must be nice. Part of me wanted them to mention that so the audience would know it’s not ok to be having indoor parties, but the other part of me is glad they didn’t because all the people who are struggling to get tested in the US would probably not feel great knowing that the rich and famous are doing it daily preventatively.

-As for the actual show, I kind of loved it? They made the best of the hand they were dealt, and it was fast-moving ceremony with very few objectional wins. (I only wish they’d varied the category order like they usually do so all the Schitt’s Creek wins weren’t back-to-back.)

-Despite there being no in-person Emmy ceremony, many stars made bold style choices – whether that meant red carpet-ready gowns or comfy pajamas.

-It’s hilarious to me that so many Zendaya fans are angry about headlines calling her win an “upset” because they don’t understand that “upset” can mean unpredicted and surprising, not necessarily that people were upset about it.

-Congrats to Penn Badgley and Domino Kirke, who welcomed their first child. Is this the first celebrity baby announcement to involve placenta art?

-BTS broke NPR’s Tiny Desk record for the most YouTube views by a video on its first day … in about 25 minutes.

-I love Legends of Tomorrow and was really hoping it’d be the only CW show without messiness, but leads star Caity Lotz had to go and screw that up by acknowledging RGB’s death by tweeting “I love the people who will vote for Biden, and I love the people who will vote for Trump.” Not only is it no time for bothsides-ism, but it’s especially galling coming from someone who plays an LGBTQ character.

Ellen DeGeneres addressed those multiple reports about a “toxic” work culture when the daytime program returned today, but she mostly distanced herself from any wrongdoing “I learned that things happened here that never should have happened.” She did add: “The truth is, I am that person that you see on TV. I am also a lot of other things. Sometimes I get sad, I get mad, I get anxious, I get frustrated, I get impatient — and I am working on all of that.”

Jessica Mulroney called Meghan Markle her “kindest friend” in a since-deleted social post.

-Meanwhile, their friendship in the news again because the Daily Mail’s latest defense in their lawsuit is to claim Markle asked Mulroney to act as a “PR agent” on her behalf to “influence” press coverage. The Mail is also claiming the Duchess cooperated in the new Finding Freedom book, which refers to her father’s letter that’s at the heart of the lawsuit.

Lori Loughlin was allowed to pick her prison, and it sounds more like a wellness retreat.

This interview with Stanley Tucci and Colin Firth about their 20-year friendship and their new movie, in which they play a couple, is a delight!

-Despite it being a stripped down film festival, TIFF still managed to generate some big deals — mostly from Netflix, which shelled out huge for Halle Berry‘s MMA movie Bruised, the Zendaya-John David Washington quarantine-shot Malcolm & Marie and the Vanessa Kirby film Pieces of a Woman (which features a 23-minute one-shot of a home birth that’s going to haunt me for a long time).

-While Paris Hilton is getting lots of praise for her new documentary, Jezebel reminds us that she still hasn’t addressed her frequent and casual use of the n-word. Some of the quotes in this article are insane.

-I did a Zoom call with Tatiana Maslany on Friday and she said she’s NOT doing She-Hulk. I assume she’s under a gag order until Marvel officially announces it, but it was weird.

-Speaking of Marvel, the new trailer for WandaVision is kind of great?
