Colton Underwood Comes Out

-Devoutly religious former Bachelor star Colton Underwood sat down for a Good Morning America interview to reveal some big news: “I’m gay. And I came to terms with that earlier this year and have been processing it… I’m the happiest and healthiest I’ve ever been in my life.” He’s recently been the subject of public controversy because of a restraining order filed by his ex-girlfriend Cassie Randolph from the series.

-And surprise, surprise — his major announcement/image rehabilitation is already working. There are reports that he’s landed his own Netflix reality show, with Olympian Gus Kenworthy acting “gay guide.”

Tom Cruise reportedly wants to do a full, global press tour for Top Gun: Maverick. Pandemic? What pandemic?

Kyra Sedgwick told Drew Barrymore about going to Tom Cruise’s house once and accidentally causing a scene. “There was this like fireplace mantle and I was looking around and there was this little button underneath the mantle. I was like, ‘Oh what is that little button?’ So I pressed the little button because I thought maybe something interesting will happen. Nothing happened and then I got a little nervous. I was like, ‘Oh nothing happened that doesn’t seem right.’ So I tapped Tom on the shoulder, who was in the middle of a story, and I said, ‘I pressed this button down here.’ And he was like, ‘You pressed that button?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, I pressed that button.’ And he goes, ‘That’s the panic button.’ And so the cops came, they had to stop the screening, they had to see Tom. I think there were more than like five cop cars, it was something…I didn’t get invited back.”

-White Boy Summer is getting off to a rocky start: Chet Hanks‘s ex filed an assault lawsuit against him.

Taylor Swift confirmed to Stephen Colbert that her song “Hey Stephen” isn’t about him. “No, Stephen, I first recorded that song in 2008. I think I was like 18. And you were 44 years old,” she said, adding: “I’m a big fan.”

-Meanwhile, Taylor released a video for her live performance of “Exile” with Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon from the Long Pond Sessions. God, I love that song.

-Meanwhile, Justin Vernon previewed a new song on his Instagram Live which features Taylor. I love that she’s just part of the Big Red Machine family now.

-There’s talk that Prince Andrew is “demanding” to wear his military uniform at Prince Philip’s funeral.

-This Is Us will only have 16 episodes this season instead of the planned 18 due to coronavirus delays. That means there’s only 3 episodes left this season.

Julianne Moore, Chloé Sevigny, Indya Moore, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Leo Reilly star in a new short film for Saint Laurent.

Regina King is having the best award season fashion-wise and I’m bummed we don’t get to see these looks on a red carpet.

-Never Have I Ever is coming back to Netflix, and Common has joined the cast.

-One of Hollywood’s worst kept secrets has been laid bare in a new THR story about how super producer Scott Rudin is reportedly a monster to work for. Among the allegations in a damning new exposé: he once “smashed an Apple computer monitor” on an assistant’s hand, when an employee with Type 1 diabetes told him she had to exercise 30 mins a day he only let her do it from 5:30am-6am (and still expected her to take calls then), and he’s thrown random things at employees, including a baked potato and a glass bowl.

-Gilmore Girls alums Jared Padalecki and Milo Ventimiglia are keeping the bromance vibes strong.

-Actor Zach Avery has been arrested for allegedly running a multi-million dollar Hollywood movie Ponzi scheme. He’s accused of fabricating licensing deals with Netflix, HBO, and other platforms to secure funding for his film distribution company, according to the FBI.​

-Netflix has reportedly spent $30M on a docuseries about Kanye West from Coodie & Chike — decades after Coodie decided to turn his footage into a documentary about West in 2002.

Taylor Swift dropped a new song “From the Vault” — this one is “Mr. Perfectly Fine.” I’m not the hugest Swiftie but I’ve been listening to the Ringer’s podcast breaking down her albums, and them talking about how she experimented with different time signatures and layered vocals on her last two albums have really made me appreciate what a streak she’s on.

-I’ve sworn off CW shows, but the gender-swapped Kung Fu is getting good reviews. It debuts tonight.

LeVar Burton wants to guest host Jeopardy, which sounds ideal.

-Did every big trailer drop today? Here’s the new trailer for Those Who Wish Me Dead, starring Angelina Jolie, Jon Bernthal, Nicholas Hoult and Tyler Perry. This looks better than the initial images made it look, since it seems less about her being a firefighter and more about her being a badass a la Salt.

Priyanka Chopra is on the cover of Marie Claire, and says the pandemic has brought her closer to hubby Nick Jonas. “Both of our schedules are so crazy individually that there was no world in which we would have ever had six months together. It only took a global pandemic for that to happen.”

-In a new podcast FKA Twigs talks about the “massive wake-up call” in her allegedly abusive relationship with Shia LaBeouf: when she says he threw her against a car at a gas station and “basically strangled” her in front of bystanders.  “Nobody did anything. That was a really low moment for me because I felt like I would never be believed…Nobody stepped in. For me, that was a real moment of like, ‘Okay, no one is going to believe me,’ because I’m the type of person if I saw something happening, I will go and help somebody, that’s just who I am.”

-Meanwhile, twigs returned with the music video for “Don’t Judge Me,” her first full song since her acclaimed 2019 album, Magdalene.

Elliot Page and Emma Portner have announced plans to divorce after three years of marriage. The pair separated last summer.

Ioan Gruffudd‘s wife says he’s blindsided her with a divorce, tweeting “My beloved husband/soulmate of 20 years, Ioan Gruffudd, has announced he is to leave his family, starting next week. Me and our young daughters girls are very confused and sad. We haven’t been given a reason except that he ‘no longer loves me’.”

-Deux Moi published a rumour that Cardi B and Channing Tatum are being eyed for a remake of The Bodyguard and for the love of gawd Hollywood, just create some new IP already.

JoJo Siwa revealed she had been swatted after coming out. “Basically what happened is we were at our house and all of a sudden there was a whole bunch of police that were telling us to come outside the house and we didn’t know why.”

-Variety’s excellent Actor on Actor pairings continue, with today’s interview between Carey Mulligan and Zendaya. Mulligan talked about calling out Variety’s sexiest review of Promising Young Woman (“It made me concerned that in such a big publication, an actress’ appearance could be criticized and it could be accepted as completely reasonable criticism. It’s important to call out those things, because they seem small & they seem insignificant…But it stuck with me because I think it’s these kind of everyday moments that add up”), while Zendaya expressed gratitude for her Disney roots (“That’s where I started, and I learned so much from that experience… I embrace it a little bit. It’s part of my heritage to a degree”).

-Schitt’s Creek’s Annie Murphy sold her very first red carpet dress for $7k and is donating the proceeds to Toronto’s Encampment Support Network.

-On last night’s Tonight ShowJared Leto delved deeper into his unique experience finding out about the pandemic following a 12-day silent meditation retreat where he had no access to phones or television. I remember the total panic of that week and this being the only story that made me smile.

-I tried to watch Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey’s Instagram Live today but I think his recent political comments have ruined him for me.

-A fan asked Lindsay Lohan to come out to her parents for her in a Cameo and it was incredibly sweet.

-If you’ve ever been to a Flaming Lips concert, you’ve probably seen lead singer Wayne Coyne bounce around the crowd in a giant hamster ball. Now the band has taken it to the next step during the pandemic, have staged a unique pair of gigs in Oklahoma with both the band and their audience inside individual inflatable balls.

Penélope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, Lily-Rose Depp, and Vanessa Paradis were some of the only guests seated at Chanel’s socially distanced front row.

-Never Rarely Sometimes Always leads the Spirit Awards nominations. I am the worst but I couldn’t get into that movie. If I saw it in a theatre during normal times I bet I would have loved it, but pandemic me has lost the ability to sit through slow, dialogue-sparse films.

-For some reason a skateboarding magazine interviewed director Werner Herzog and it was weirdly great.

-There’s a Revenge reunion happening in a couple weeks, and it sounds as dramatic as the show. Christa B. Allen said she’s been a victim of “bullying” after being left off of the guest list. Madeleine Stowe, who is also not attending, seemed to take her side, saying of their time on the set, “I saw her endure some things at 18 years of age that would bring a weaker person to their knees, but she has such inner dignity that she gracefully kept moving.”

-The stuff going on with Kellyanne Conway and her daughter is wildly disturbing.
