Rihanna Is Pregnant

-There is no other news today that matters more than Rihanna‘s pregnancy. I adore the way she announced it too, with a DIY snow-themed photoshoot. Though I’m a little surprised she didn’t release the images on her own social media, or do a mag exclusive with proceeds going to charity. Instead, she used a paparazzo and the pics are on a photo agency’s site for $1,500 a pop.

Nick Cannon sparked rumors that he is expecting his eighth child after he hosted pregnant Bre Tiesi’s baby shower.

-Is Cara Delevingne now dating Sienna Miller? Colour me intrigued.

Andrew Garfield and Rachel Zegler are today’s Actors on Actors pairing, and she couldn’t handle his gushing about her performance in West Side Story: “I cannot even believe those words just came out of your face towards my face.”

-Party Down’s revival added some new cast members: Jennifer Garner, ZoĂ« Chao, Tyrel Jackson Williams, and James Marsden. I assumed they’d all be playing versions of themselves who hire the catering crew for their parties, but Garner is playing Adam Scott’s love interest! She’s no Lizzy Caplan but I’ll take it.

-Aw man, I knew the purity of Wordle couldn’t last. The NYT just bought it for seven figures. (I do love that the guy who invented it is getting paid so much, and that part of his agreement to sell was that they must keep it free.)

Eric Dane sat down with THR to discuss “the absolute dumpster fire of a meltdown that is Cal Jacobs” in Euphoria season two. Despite episodes three and four giving viewers more insight into who Cal Jacobs is, Dane insists it doesn’t justify who he is — or the things he’s done. “You’re not going to walk away from this thinking, ‘Oh, Cal, what a great guy.”

-Netflix’s latest South Korean zombie drama All Of Us Are Dead has dethroned Euphoria from the top spot in this week’s Twitter TV buzz rankings.

-Hollywood’s obsession with making movies about toys has gone overboard.

-Vulture did a hilarious deep-dive into what Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers may have “agreed to disagree” on. “It’s my belief that the men who punched Miles Teller in the face while on vacation with Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers were sent back in time from the future, Ă  la 12 Monkeys, to save the world.”

Tessa Thompson says the new Thor movie will include a romance for her character. “It’s totally exciting. We talk so much about representation and obviously, in terms of the LGBTQIA community, there’s still so much work to be done. But if you look at the comics in the canon, there are so many queer characters! It’s hard because Taika [Waititi] and I would’ve even liked to go further, but in the context of the movies, there’s only so much we can do.”

-Spotify said that it will add content advisories before podcasts discussing the pandemic (which doesn’t solve the problem at all). Meanwhile, Joe Rogan defended himself on IG, and promised to “try harder to get people with differing opinions on” and “do my best to make sure I’ve researched these topics.” Yes, because the “doing my own research” thing seems to be panning out so well for everybody who says it…

-Meanwhile, I wonder if Brené Brown removing her podcasts from the platform will hurt Spotify even more than the musician exodus?

Drake asking his son a simple question about how big he’ll grow up to be, and his son getting all existential about how his dad is going to die and his body will wither back into the universe is quality content.

Emma Roberts Comes Into Her Own

Emma Roberts on the cover of Tatler

Emma Roberts opened up about finding herself amid news of her split from Garrett Hedlund in her Tatler cover story. While she declined to comment on the specifics of their relationship, she said, “I’m at a place where I can say, ‘I may not have got everything right but I like who I am more than I ever have.’ My life has changed more in the past two years than it did in the 28 years beforehand and I love where I’m standing now at the age of 30.” She also talked about the paparazzi harassing her. “The way I was followed and treated when I was pregnant was disgusting. I’d be driving to a doctor’s appointment and they’d be following me so closely. At one point, I remember saying to them, ‘Please don’t do that, I’m eight months pregnant.’ But they don’t care.”

Sean Penn recently told a newspaper: “I am in the club that believes that men in American culture have become wildly feminised. I don’t think being a brute or having insensitivity or disrespect for women is anything to do with masculinity, or ever did. I don’t think that [in order] to be fair to women, we should become them.” When asked to clarify his remarks by a different newspaper, he doubled down: “I think that men have, in my view, become quite feminised. I have these very strong women in my life who do not take masculinity as a sign of oppression toward them. There are a lot of, I think, cowardly genes that lead to people surrendering their jeans and putting on a skirt.” If it were anybody else I’d be surprised by such a blatant display of toxic masculinity. But him? Sounds about right.

-On the opposite end of the spectrum, Jamie Dornan was on Ellen and talked about having three daughters. He cheerfully said, “I’ve gone from my sisters dressing me up in like wigs and lipstick and stuff to my kids doing the same thing. I’ve basically been in a perpetual state of drag for 39 years.”

This clip of Lady Gaga talking about all the acting courses/methods she follows and Salma Hayek quietly dying inside is hilarious.

-Meanwhile, here’s  a round-up of the most chaotic spectacles of Lady Gaga’s press tour. Everyone’s making fun of her but I love how extra she is. You do you, lady.

-And Just Like That star Cynthia Nixon is sticking up for Miranda’s treatment of Steve.

-To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before star Lana Condor is engaged to her longtime boyfriend, actor and musician Anthony De La Torre. I love that her ring is from a Canadian jeweler.

Joesph Gordon-Levitt stars as Uber CEO Travis Kalanick and Uma Thurman plays Arianna Huffington in the first trailer for the Showtime limited series Super Pumped.

Kristen Stewart and Nicole Kidman Reunite

-Today’s Variety Actors on Actors is Kristen Stewart and Nicole Kidman. Stewart talked about being a child actor and working with Kidman on Panic Room before she dropped out of the film due to an injury (“We spent a couple weeks rehearsing…The way you treat kids is so telling. I just felt like I was buds with you. You were so nice to me…You gave me walkie-talkies for Christmas!”), while Kidman gushed about her costars in Being the Ricardos. (I also love how both Stewart’s dog and cat were making tons of noise during the interview.)

-Ruh roh. Marvel/Lost actress Evangeline Lilly attended the D.C. anti-vax protest last weekend, saying she’s for “bodily sovereignty.”

Mike Schur (whose creation of the philosophical sitcom The Good Place led him to write a new book about moral philosophy called How to Be Perfect: The Correct Answer to Every Moral Question) says anti-maskers aren’t headed for The Good Place.

-This entire Nicolas Cage quote is perfection: “[My pet crow] has taken to calling me names…it’s comical, at least, it is to me. When I leave the room, he’ll say, ‘Bye,’ and then go, ‘Ass.’ Crows are very intelligent. And I like their appearance, the Edgar Allan Poe aspect. I like the goth element. I am a goth.”
