Sebastian Stan Suits Up for GQ

Sebastian Stan Suits Up GQ
GQ/STEVEN PAN

-Avengers: Infinity War broke a slew of records at the box office this weekend. I thought it was a disjointed mess with a bunch of false consequences that can’t possibly stick because they make no sense from a business/franchise perspective, but what do I know?

-The one thing that the movie did (or more accurately, the junket) is rekindle my love for Sebastian StanThis GQ profile helps, too.

Tina Fey is the latest celeb to be featured in David Letterman‘s interview series for Netflix, and she gives him some improv tips in this preview.

-Meanwhile, I want Sterling K Brown to have all of the superhero roles. All of ’em.

Seth Rogen explains why he’s kept silent amid BFF James Franco’s sexual misconduct allegations: “The truth is that my perspective on this is the least relevant perspective. I’m friends with these people and I’m a dude. All that combined makes me the last person who should be talking about this.” He’s not wrong.

-Well. About 60 women at NBC, including Rachel Maddow and Mika Brzezinski, are defending Tom Brokaw.

Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid were caught kissing, despite their rumoured split.

-Speaking of rekindled romances, Kerry Perry and Orlando Bloom  are a thing again. Yay?

-I really like this profile on Janelle Monáe, in which she talks about Dirty Computer (which I have stuck on repeat), growing up Baptist and the music industry’s #TimesUp reckoning.

-The latest bump watch target: Gwyneth Paltrow.

-There is so much to unpack in Jessica Simpson’s latest bikini pose. None of it good.

-SNL star Aidy Bryant got married this weekend. I love her dress!

-Why yes, I WOULD like to read this N-Sync oral history of their breakup that throws Justin Timberlake under the bus.

-After months of talk about her 50+ stitches, Carrie Underwood finally revealed her face and it looks…the same?

Diane Keaton hasn’t dated since the Nixon era in new Book Club trailer, which appears to have been designed in a lab to make your mother happy.

Chance the Rapper Walks It Back

Chance the Rapper apologized (quite well, too!) for that Kanye West-supporting tweet.

-We don’t deserve John Legend, who tried to talk Kanye off the ledge.  “And since you’re posting texts, let me add that I have a new single out haha.”

-Welp! Miranda Lambert‘s new boyfriend/hookup situation is redefining messy.

-This is a really smart way to build buzz for Stranger Things 2.

Kim Kardashian talked about Tristan Thompson’s cheating scandal on Ellen: “I don’t even know how to describe it besides it’s just so f**ked up. We really were rooting for Khloe and we still are, she’s so strong and she’s doing the best that she can.”

Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds continue to be delightful together.

-A new report says Ann Curry warned NBC of a sex harassment claim against Matt Lauer.

-Meanwhile, Lauer broke his silence  to defend himself against the report (“I fully acknowledge that I acted inappropriately as a husband, father and principal at NBC” ) and Tom Brokaw was NOT happy to be dragged into it (“I was ambushed and then perp walked across the pages of The Washington Post and Variety as an avatar of male misogyny, taken to the guillotine and stripped of any honor and achievement I had earned in more than a half century of journalism and citizenship”).

Justin Bieber paid a surprise visit to the Stratford, Ont. museum exhibit — on himself.

-Not surprisingly, Avengers: Infinity War’s box office is already breaking records.

-The Infinity War cast joined a tour bus and sang their own version of “We Are The World” for James Corden.

Janelle Monáe Says She’s Pansexual

janelle_monae_rolling-stone-pansexualJanelle Monáe‘s quote about her sexuality is getting all the headlines (“Being a queer black woman in America, someone who has been in relationships with both men and women – I consider myself to be a free-ass motherf**ker…but then later I read about pansexuality and was like, ‘Oh, these are things that I identify with too.’ I’m open to learning more about who I am”), but her whole Rolling Stone interview is worth your time.

-Speaking of cover stories, Alden Ehrenreich is on the cover of Esquire, and most of his profile is damage control for the upcoming Solo movie.

-Whoa: the jury in the Bill Cosby felony sexual assault retrial found the 80-year-old comedian guilty on all three counts. He now faces up to ten years for each of the three counts of drugging and raping Toronto’s Andrea Constand in his Philadelphia home in 2004.

Cosby remained quiet during the reading of the verdict, but reportedly lashed out at the prosecutor in expletive-laden tirade during the subsequent discussion about him being a flight risk.

-Meanwhile, celebs celebrated the verdict on Twitter.

-I really, really hope this story about how disgraced CBS anchor Charlie Rose is being slated to star in a show where he’ll interview other high-profile men who have also been toppled by #MeToo scandals is a joke. Or a desperate attempt by his camp at a comeback. As long as it’s nothing that resembles reality.

Kelis alleges abuse at the hands of Nas during their marriage in a new bombshell interview. “I remember so clearly, when the pictures came out with that whole thing that happened with [Rihanna] and Chris Brown, and the only way I can describe it was like Double Dutch. ‘Do I jump in? Do I say it?’ Cause I had bruises all over my body at that time. I remember being in Atlanta, sitting in the kitchen, and I was like, ‘Do I?’ And I wasn’t ready to walk. I just wasn’t. And so I didn’t say it.'”

-The Avengers: Infinity War did one final push on late night last night, singing their own version of “The Brady Bunch” theme song for Fallon, and awkwardly surprising fans and answering Avengers trivia on Kimmel.

-This is cool: Paramount wants a female director for the next Star Trek movie, and S.J. Clarkson (who directed the Jessica Jones pilot) is in talks for it.

-Oh no. SNL’s “Weekend Update” anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che are set to host the Emmys.

-In better hosting news, Kelly Clarkson is going to host the Billboard Awards, so Ellen helped her with some prep.

Priyanka Chopra‘s reaction to David Blaine sewing his mouth shut is hilarious.

John Cena is refreshingly blunt about his split from Nikki Bella:It sucks.

-This is a very smart take on what’s been going on with Kanye West.

Amy Schumer sat down with Oprah Winfrey to share a disturbing story of what she describes as a “grey-area rape” by a former boyfriend. “I didn’t consent. For me, I lost my virginity when I was asleep and that’s not ok.”

-Cardi B is being sued by her former manager for $10M.

-I dig this interview with Brian Tyree Henry, who plays Paper Boi on Atlanta. I had NO idea he was in Book of Mormon on Broadway. That’s range!

Joaquin Phoenix finds his artist side after a life-changing accident in the Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot trailer.
